If you ever feel like you’re losing the race, please remember there is no race. So anyways, yeah I took a huge pay cut being here, so it can’t be about the money. Why am I even here? I’m not really sure, it has to be for the experience or the willingness to serve others or maybe it’s about looking for a new purpose to fill that void in my life, I’m not entirely sure. But anyways ultimately at some point, if we don’t simply let go and enjoy the present moment how will we ever learn to enjoy what we eventually get? In your pursuit of happiness, learn to let go and live in the moment you’re already in... remember to be right where your feet are. It was a pleasure spending time with all of you!! “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson You know how people always say, “early to bed and early to rise makes you healthy, wealthy, and wise”? In a lot of homes, it’s lights out by 8 p.m., and mornings kick off with the smell of coffee, bacon sizzling, and eggs scrambling. Some folks stick to that routine their whole lives, but honestly, it doesn’t always lead to the best outcomes. I chose to ditch that advice and went for late nights and late mornings instead. I’m not claiming to have figured everything out, but I’ve definitely dodged a ton of traffic jams and avoided a bunch of the usual pitfalls in life. Plus, I’ve met some pretty amazing people along the way. One of those people turned out to be myself, someone my dad never really got to know. If he was still around, I would be telling him all about places I’ve visited, failed relationships, amazing people I’ve met, or just about anything that runs through my mind 24/7. Someone had everything figured out by 25 but lost themselves at 35. Someone else started over at 45 and built a life they truly loved. Someone watched everyone around them move faster, wondering if they are falling behind. The thing is, whichever path we take, it doesn’t really matter. Everyone’s got their own journey in life, with twists and turns that shape who we are. Whether you get up when the sun rise or sleep in, it’s all about finding what works for you and embracing your unique story. Your timeline is your own, early is not better and later is not worst, what’s meant for you will come at the right time. Go enjoy life, there is so much more in life than just living and working your miserable careers or pleasing people who will stab you in the back every chance they get. Neuroplasticity is something I’m very curious about but not driven enough to really dig deep into studying. I find the brain possibly as the most fascinating organ in our body. And I’m sure at least another person out there feels the same way as I do. It’s really interesting to me how the brain can adapt and grow based on our experiences and perceptions. Each of us has unique life experiences, with no two people experiencing the same events in the same way. We often meet people who aren’t meant to stay in our lives forever, we meet these people because they were meant to teach us something. This happens regularly, but it becomes particularly significant when we’re attached to those lessons and struggle to let them go. Moving on sometimes means realizing that, as wonderful as another person might be, they were just a lesson needed to learn to love yourself more and understand the world better. Letting go gracefully means recognizing that everyone in our lives has a final day with us. It’s about being open to the idea that their absence might be what allowed you to love more deeply. Love people as if you might lose them because, eventually you will. Welcome everyone in to your life with a smile and open arms, you’ll never know what you might find or learn from them. Every encounter, no matter the duration, teaches us something or adds to our experience. In life we can either wait for the difficulties to pass or learn to enjoy life despite them. Never fear a storm, learn to dance in the rain. Eventually you’ll realize that it was never about the storm, but the experiences the rain brought into your life. by @joe_not_rogan

It always surprises people when I tell them that I have a son and it surely surprises the heck out of them when I tell them I love being a dad. The privilege of fatherhood is an absolute joy and one of my most cherished addition to my life. We’ve been to so many places and done so many things together in a short amount of time. Granted, he doesn’t much of a choice since I strap him on my back and drag him along, but your true ride or die is undoubtedly your first born child. The one who had to grow up with you and experience everything with you. They got the unhealed, inexperienced version of you and stuck beside you through it all. They are the ones that show you what true love or unconditional love feels like. They wipe your tears, see your mistakes, and get you through the hard times. They love you despite everything. Some may label this as people pleasing or as an attempt to fill a void in my life, but I beg to differ. To me, its about breaking the cycle that has long defined my family’s history. If I can impart just a fraction of the influence on my son as he grows, perhaps he’ll, in turn, shape the lives of his own children so that the cycle of positive change continues through generations. It sounds cliche, but change really does begin with me. I love you son and I’m very proud of the person you are slowly becoming. You don’t have to be a 49ers fan like your dad, but please don’t be a Dallas Cowboys fan. by @joe_not_rogan
