Learning Vizcom AI and really impressed with how much control you can have.

It’s a lot like compositing in Photoshop, but with a different workflow. You guide the design through prompts, selections, and render passes until it gets closer to what you had in mind.

Really enjoying the process and seeing how far AI art direction can go. by @joecasillas

🤖 Everyone’s talking about the new Sentar robot, so I figured I’d have a little fun with it.

🎬 Sentar: The Barista of Doom.

Employee of the Month. Zero customer complaints. (Coincidence? I’ll let you decide. 😂)

Created with Adobe Firefly and finished in Adobe Lightroom.

Now if you’ll excuse me… I’m going to stay out of Sentar’s complaint department. ☕🤖 by @joecasillas

Found the original idea on LinkedIn. The original was about a video editor.

I had to update it… so I made my own Art Director version. 😂

Today: “Let’s brainstorm together.”

Tomorrow: “Thanks for all the references. Security will walk you out.” 🐍🤣 by @joecasillas

What started as a simple client request became a full custom pet nutrition brand presentation for Balchem, complete with original dog and cat packaging, a realistic refrigerator display, store-style shelving, lighting, shadows, color polish, and Photoshop finishing. The client shared that the graphics looked so real and original that people stopped to comment, and the booth received more foot traffic than usual. This was not about taking real product photos and placing a logo on top. It was about building a believable brand world from the ground up. AI-assisted or not, strong creative work still takes taste, time, revisions, and a finishing eye. by @joecasillas

Having seen the “Rock, Paper, Pencil” product by Astropad for iPad on Facebook, I am now motivated to test its capabilities and potentially improve my control over vector drawings in Adobe Fresco. by @joecasillas

HE GUMMY WARS: THE MOLTEN REALM
Long ago, the candy universe lived in balance.
Gummies, sours, chocolate, and flowing syrup all held their place. At the center was the Molten Realm, a world of heat and energy that kept everything alive. Then sweetness began to burn. Sugar hardened. Flavor turned sharp. And from it… the Sour Side rose. The red gummy warrior gave in to the heat. Changed. Hardened. Focused on one thing.
Control!
He believes softness is weakness. But one still stands against him. The green gummy Jedi, protector of the Soft Core, fights to save the candy universe before it’s all turned hard and lifeless. Now they meet on a single bridge above molten lava. No words. No turning back.
***Continued from last year’s design.
Rebuilt this year with a touch of AI and finished in Photoshop.

Carving the Curve (2025) 🛹⚡️
Bold, graphic digital illustration packed with motion and loud 80s neon energy.
What started as a quick experiment in Adobe Fresco turned into a full creative ride. I used a screen grab from a skate session video of a talented artist friend as reference and hit plenty of bumps along the way. Yes, including accidentally rasterizing vector layers more than once 😅. Redrew sections, learned fast, and kept pushing.
While I still wish Fresco had stronger vector sketch brush options, I found some solid workarounds and honestly started to enjoy how fluid and natural it feels for expressive drawing. The color direction leans hard into neon-inspired 80s tones, guided by a great RGB reference site I stumbled across.
Shared here at a smaller size.
Original artwork created at 18 × 20.
Frustrating at times, but a fun and therapeutic creative ride. by @joecasillas

Good afternoon, creative friends. Today’s post comes straight from a challenge at home.

My daughter dared me to create something new without using Photoshop or Procreate. She said, “Try Adobe Fresco, it’s easy.” So here I am, working on an older iPad, drawing on smooth glass with no texture, and learning a whole new way of creating.

I will be honest, it has been challenging. The brushes feel different, the setup is not what I am used to, and I am still learning how to build custom vector brushes. At the same time, I find that process interesting and exciting. It is a very different mindset from Photoshop, but still easier for me than Illustrator.

Even in moments of frustration, I remind myself why I do this. I love learning. I love pushing myself into uncomfortable spaces. A good friend once told me to trust the process, and that advice keeps me going when I feel like quitting.

This piece is not perfect, but it represents growth. Learning without shortcuts builds confidence. Struggling means I am moving forward. One line at a time, I am heading in the right direction. by @joecasillas

This piece is inspired by my father’s favorite Norman Rockwell painting. It reminded him of family, hope and the comfort of gathering together. I wanted to bring that feeling into a modern story about how families show up for one another, even when times are hard.

In this scene, Grandma and Grandpa lose their Thanksgiving budget after their SNAP account freezes in November 2025. They still bring everyone together with whatever they can. Water. Pretzels. Banana chips. Potato. Saltines. Cheesy cracker fish. And one can of SPAM. Grandma knows Jonny and little Stacey love turkey legs, so she added blue tinsel toothpicks to the SPAM to make them smile. The family is emotional, grateful and together. As Grandma says, “Times are tough, but family is home.”

People kept asking how this was made. Most AI tools couldn’t handle a full family scene and blocked simple words like hands, crying or closed eyes. So I built it piece by piece. I finished everything by hand in Photoshop, adding the lighting, the emotion and the small details I’ve learned on my journey as a Digital Finisher Artist.

Thank you to the friends and artists who push me to share my work.
Art helps us feel. Art helps us speak. Art brings people together.
