Well friends… after 14 months off Instagram, I appear to be back 😜 Honestly, it’s been pretty peaceful. No scrolling, no endless checking in, no accidental loss of hours disappearing into the feed. Just being distracted by the rest of life instead. A few moments from the last year, mostly lived fully in real time rather than shared on here. What I have missed is staying connected with people. Seeing what you’re all up to, celebrating life moments, sharing experiences, opportunities, ideas, adventures and the random beautiful bits of being human. I’ve missed that part. What I haven’t missed is the social voyeurism, the comparison trap, and the dopamine hook that social media can so easily become if we’re not careful with it. The biggest thing I think I’ve learned is how valuable presence is. Living moments without immediately thinking about documenting them. Sharing less, but hopefully more meaningfully. I love connecting with people and building community, so I’m hoping I can return to this space using it more as a tool for connection and creativity rather than unconscious consumption. Anyway… lovely to see your faces again. Let’s see how this goes 😜 by @joefridayeveryday

The one where they all moved out…. If it’s going to be the last time I have roommates, I am fucking glad it was you two. So much fun, mutual support, in-jokes, entire conversations in character, much nudity, dancing, poor dishwasher ettiquette (me) and a few really fun parties. As well as all of the annoying stuff, but where is the joy in airing that. Have already found myself missing being talked too whilst I am actually *in* the shower, Ash getting into my bed to look at memes together silently on separate phones and the sound of….. alreeeeeeeeeet, first thing in the morning over coffee from Joe Friday. Much Love you too ❤️ by @joefridayeveryday

Family memories by @joefridayeveryday
This week has been quite an incredible week for my family. Not only did we sell our Mum’s family home, our Dad has also moved back to London after 6 years in the countryside. By some weird alignment of the stars both house sales completed on the same day just by chance. It’s funny how sometimes you say goodbye and welcome something else in at the same time. The recent pandemic has hit some people deeply and all I can say is Dad: You are back with your Brother, both your Children and Grandchildren and we are a safe space. It is going to be so nourishing for both You and Us to be together so much more. Here’s to Family ✨ by @joefridayeveryday
A Clearing…….Today my sister, Georgie @piccolopilates_ and I said a final goodbye to our family home. Our Mum passed away over 13 years ago, and after continuing to live in it for 2 years we’ve rented it out for over a decade. It has provided us both with the stability of a small but very helpful income, month in, month out. Today we closed the front door for the final time, but not before we shared a small closing circle and some words. Firstly something we are grateful for in our past. Unsurprisingly it was our Mum and her unwavering love and support for us. Second was something we’re grateful for in the present, which turned out to be each other 🙏🏽. We shared a wish for our futures, being stability and enjoying the family (& friends) we currently have. I cried as I shared, and eventually so did Georgie…I cried on the drive home, and I’m crying my eyes out as I type this. Thank you Mum for everything you have us when you were with us and thank you for every you left us with in terms of stability, legacy and security. We both now go on to buy our own homes with a nest egg that Mum left us all those years ago. They say a prayer is actually a clearing, in order to welcome in the new we have to clear out something from the old. With a mix of tears, gratitude and release we have created this clearing and welcome in the new. I also sent a Vortext to Mum saying thank you as that’s how we chat these days…..If you have a spare moment please WhatsApp or Text your Mum or anyone else you Love and tell them so. Life is short so cherish yourselves, your Loved ones and if you can, make every moment a little prayer to welcome in something beautiful 💓💓💓 by @joefridayeveryday
