This was my 2020 Freestyle Open National Championship routine submission in Fort Lauderdale FL that I never posted.

I unfortunately never looked at the submission requirements until a few weeks before the competition where they required a video of your routine…

At that time in my life, I was not someone that had a set routine. I was more like the movie “Brink” just a Soul Flyer 😂

I’ll never forget how unorthodox and different my routine was from everyone else’s.

One of the commentators @benroane18 at the time mentioned how I would use more of the tunnel than anyone else and how I liked using the power at the bottom.

I came from instructing which meant you usually only got to fly after every class to do a 1 minute demo.

I always loved dynamic the most, but wanted to find ways to incorporate freestyle tricks into my dynamic lines.

This tunnel has always felt like home.

It’s been some time since I’ve been an instructor or even flown and I’m definitely a little rusty!

Since then I’ve moved on to corporate America but I frequently think about the countless hours I’ve spent in this very tube and the lifelong friendships I’ve made because of it.

Of course it wasn’t always perfect but it’s given me so much to appreciate, learn from and carry on as I move forward in life. Whether it’s building patience when taking in first timers or learning how to be a leader when coaching advanced flyers or developing confidence in myself, it’s truly been a blessing in disguise.

But what has taught me the most personally was my own training.

Perfecting my technique and skills are of course a big part of that but the biggest take away I gained was learning the value of commitment and hard work.

People often mention these virtues but until they are non-negotiable you can never truly understand what it means to be committed to something and work hard.

Through this career and sport I learned how to be a better teammate, employee, athlete and person.

As humans, I believe we are never truly done learning how to better ourselves as individuals.

Body Flight has given me a perspective I will always be thankful for. 🙏🏼

Apparently wearing a hard hat makes people think I know what I’m doing. I’m not correcting them. 😎

It’s been a long time since I had something worth posting - I’m happy to share that I’m back in the Tech space and ready to get to work.

I took a position with a tech company and look forward to learning from the best and chasing the opportunities we have in front of us.

Thank you to my family, friends & the Lord & savior Jesus Christ for always making me earn the answered prayers. 🙏🏼
