Perspective changes everything. Count the blessings… and keep climbing. We’re not done. by @joel_sjsj
What a Collab event. That night we all flew to Surabaya for @arpo.sby first anniversary. Congratulations for the anniversary & huge thanks to @arnoldpo for being such a fantastic host. We'd fly in and wash dishes all over again just to eat this meal. #ArpoSby #ArpoSijinNoi #SurabayaFood #SurabayaFoodies by @joel_sjsj
I needed a day before I could write this. Most nights end when the last plate goes out. This one still hasn't. We came to Arpo for a collaboration. We left with so much more. After service on the final night, I sat down under those arches and that warm light, just to take it all in. Around me, the whole team was celebrating. Laughing. Talking like family. Two nights of long, extreme hours behind them, and the room was still full of joy. That kind of joy doesn't happen by accident. Someone has to build a safe space where people can give everything they have and still thrive. Every chef dreams of a kitchen like that. Very few ever build one. Chef Arnold and Chef Reynold did. Chef Arnold is a strong leader. But at the end of the day, everything he does comes from a genuine place. He truly cares about his people, and you can feel it in every corner of Arpo. Chef Reynold carries that same heart. His passion is the kind you cannot fake, and it radiates into everyone standing beside him. To the Arpo team, everyone who stood left and right of us in that kitchen: I saw you. The pressure nobody else sees. The hours nobody counts. And after all of it, you still held on, together. The guests will remember the food. I will remember you. Chef Arnold, Chef Reynold, thank you for opening your home to us and trusting us with your kitchen, your guests and your people. You made us feel like we belonged, and a part of us always will. Between chefs, there is no higher respect than that. This was never a typical collaboration. It left its mark on every single one of us. I am so blessed and so happy I got to be part of it. Happy first anniversary, Arpo. Ours is forever. 🤍 ARPO × SI JIN × NOI by @joel_sjsj
To mark its first anniversary, @arpo.sby hosts an extraordinary collaborative dinner alongside @sijinbali and offers an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming @noi.jkt. Uniting chefs @joel_sjsj, @arnoldpo, and @reynoldpoer, the evening brings together genuine hospitality and culinary innovation in a 14-course tasting menu. Book your table (and your flight) for October 15. #TatlerDiningID #TatlerDiningNews by @joel_sjsj
Run by @joel_sjsj, @younghee.bali specialises in modern Gyukatsu; choose your meat of choice, and it’s paired with a set of housemade pickles, dips, sauces, salads, and condiments. Add on a selection of bites, like the puffed bread with stracciatella and prawn toast, and you’re in for a treat at the counter. #TatlerDiningID #TatlerTastes by @joel_sjsj
I mean we’re quite sure @joel_sjsj has talents beyond the kitchen right? Happy birthday to you both! @siwi_kecil DJ J-CA$H x Benz Siwi by @joel_sjsj
We’ve been sitting on this one for a while, waiting for the right moment to tell you about it properly. A week ago we posted a teaser with no context, just a glimpse, and the replies flooded in. Clearly we weren’t the only ones who missed this place. When we sat down to compile the footage for this video, we realized something, we’d been to Si Jin over 25+ times. And going back through every visit, there wasn’t a single one that disappointed. Not one off night, not one inconsistent dish. Behind it was Chef @joel_sjsj — someone who never seemed satisfied with “good enough,” always pushing what food and hospitality could be at the same time. The kind of cooking that surprises you, service that makes you feel like family, and yet, despite all that talent, one of the most humble people we’ve ever sat across from. A true supporter of jetlaggedjournal since day 1, amazing chef, & a brother at the same time. Si Jin Bali may be closed now, but this meal stayed with us. And with a lot of people too. p.s. we heeeaaard.. they’re reopening somewhere 🤫 COMMENT to petition to bring back @sijinbali 👀 #SiJinBali #BaliDining #BestSteakhouse by @joel_sjsj
“Aren’t you bored eating at @younghee.bali all the time?” well no. Younghee nights can turn into experience like none other in Indonesia. Headed by Lord @joel_sjsj, probably one of the best chef I’ve ever known, Younghee serves you all kinds of Korean & Japanese inspired comfort food crafted at fine dining level. Please, try it on your next Bali trip. It’s always a dinner to remember. #YoungheeBali #SiJin #BaliDining by @joel_sjsj

It’s the final post. The final day. And what a memory we’ve made. We came to the World Brewers Cup with nothing but heart, vision, and a crew I’m endlessly proud of. From hosting the Cupping Rooms to Roasters Village. From being the Gold Sponsor of WBrC to roasting the Compulsory Bean for the finals, it’s been nothing short of historic. I roasted with everything I had, the best I’ve ever done. And I hope it gives back to those competing tomorrow with energy, with focus, with fire. To my team, A BIG THANK YOU for giving your all. To this moment, thank you for being ours. What a great memory. Let’s go Indonesia 🇮🇩 by @joel_sjsj
