What started as a last minute winter weather break up to maintain my sanity - turned into the trip of a lifetime and I will cherish the time with family and friends forever. When I look back I don’t want to regret working too much. I don’t want to regret not spending time with my family. I don’t want to say “I should have”. If you’ve ever thought: “ how do they travel so much?”

The answer may surprise you. In my case, I am not independently wealthy. I didn’t inherit anything. I’m not a sponsored influencer.

Hard work.

Sacrifice.

And simply… it comes down to priorities.

Everyone has the freedom to choose what the spend their time and money on, and for me that is crystal clear.

The BEST hotel in Athens was a great place to start our 20th Anniversary journey.

Oh Athens… we meet again. You may never be my destination, but you always charm my path.

This trip was really something special. Celebrating 20 years we set out to explore another side of Greece we haven’t experienced… just the 2 of us 🤙🏽.

Now: To really get INTO Greece, one must first get to Athens. For some, that either consumes their trip - or is glossed over on their way. Each time we’ve spent a few short days in Athens we’ve been intentional about seeing it.

This time, we got to venture a little further in the few short days and witnessed sunset at the Temple of Poseidon about an hour south of the city. To say awe inspiring is an understatment.

On top that quick excursion, one thing that made this time so fun was our first hotel. It is probably the nicest in Athens. Location was amazing - close to transit - near lots of very good coffee, bakeries, and food, AND had a sick rooftop pool/bar. I got up early each morning and just wandered around (trying every shops freddo cappuccino, espresso and frape) which was in a totally different district that last trip. We REALLY got our money’s worth.

If you go to Greece (which you should), you really need to explore Athens. Of course see the Acropolis and museum (highly recommend) but there is so much more to the city, and I always enjoy my time there.

The first Athens leg of this trip was some of the most fun we’ve had. 10/10
