Baking some treats for next week's Heart kids events.
Sometimes, a small sweet treat can bring a much-needed smile to a family navigating a tough journey. I created these custom fondant biscuits to help brighten the days of some incredibly strong little ones and their families.
These cookies feature vibrant red and blue fondant hearts. They are carefully stamped with the "HeartKids" name, to honor the resilience of these amazing children. It is always an absolute privilege to craft something meaningful that can spread a little extra love, comfort, and support to our community. ❤️💙

Meet Teddy — Dallas’s hospital buddy 🧸❤️‍🩹

This time around, we wanted to be extra prepared. Dallas has previously experienced a lot of medical anxiety and trauma, and honestly, Teddy has been our saving grace.

Dallas is older now and so much more aware of who’s who and what’s happening around him in hospital. Teddy has helped give him a way to communicate with the nurses and doctors — showing them how he’s feeling, where something hurts, and helping him understand what they need to do before they do it to him.

Dallas’s BIGGEST fear is the oxygen mask. We tried putting it on Teddy first to show him it was okay… and that was a BIG NO 😂👎🏽 Or, in Dallas language, a very firm thumbs down! He’s okay with the nasal prongs though, probably because they remind him of the NG tube he had for the first 15 months of his life.

When Dallas woke up hungry, Teddy was hungry too. 🥹
When the nurses removed the cannulas from Dallas’s hand and ankle and gave him Band-Aids, of course Teddy needed matching Band-Aids too. 🩹🧸

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference for our little heart warrior.

Honestly, a HUGE thank you to Teddy for making this hospital visit feel a little less scary for Dallas. 🧸❤️‍🩹

And just like that, we close Chapter 2 and step into Chapter 3. 💙
What a year it has been, Dallas — adventures, new routines, new friendships, less hospital time, and watching you grow stronger, cheekier and more into your own little person every day.
Our little hearty haka boy, may you always carry that mana within you, keep that cheeky spirit, and continue being unapologetically YOU.

Yesterday started at 2:45am the 4 of us. While Nathan, T and Kelly were up getting ready and heading out to Campbelltown before sunrise, I stayed back to get the kids sorted before joining the team later in the morning.

Then came 5 weeks of planning, endless phone calls, meetings, messages, emails, route mapping, organising, pit crewing, taxi driving, and making sure everyone was hydrated, fed and looked after.

Kelly, we bloody did it!!! ❤️🙌

While Nathan and T were out there doing the hard kilometres, it was you and me behind the scenes making sure everything ran smoothly.

They say behind every great man is a strong woman quietly holding everything together. Well yesterday, there were two. ❤️

The four of us made one hell of a team. So proud of Nathan and T for what they achieved, and so grateful I got to do this alongside you, Kel, my partner in crime.

The first and the last time, aye? 😂

A huge shoutout to the incredible people who walked every single step alongside Nathan. ❤️
Jason, Oma, Samuel, Connie, Jason, and my love — you showed up, dug deep, and completed the entire walk together.
3 heart dads, one amazing 50+ year old lady, and a young entrepreneur all united for one cause. Through sore feet, exhaustion, and kilometres upon kilometres, you stayed by Nathan's side from start to finish.
The walk may have been Nathan's challenge, but none of this would have been possible without the incredible support crew who walked every step with him.
So proud of every one of you. What an amazing example of friendship, community, determination, and heart. ❤️👣

Waking up this morning with a full heart. ❤️

Yesterday was about so much more than kilometres.

I got to watch my love stand beside a great mate and support a cause that means so much to our family. Watching him walk, encourage, and show up for Nathan throughout the day made me incredibly proud.

To Nathan, congratulations on completing your 45km walk. What an amazing achievement. The awareness you've raised, the conversations you've started, and the support you've shown heart families will have a lasting impact. Thank you for doing it for Benji & for your family.

To my love, thank you for showing up with your whole heart. Thank you for supporting a mate, walking for our boy Dallas, his sisters Tiana and Havana, and for every heart family who knows this journey all too well.

The blisters will heal, the sore muscles will recover, but the difference made yesterday will last much longer.

Two amazing dads. One incredible cause. ❤️💙
