Ripley was a released guide dog pup who allegedly didn’t pass her test, which feels suspicious because she has already mastered the most essential obedience command in our house: “Chill Out.” We think she nailed it. We respectfully request a review of her file by @weratedogs by @joelovero

All work and no play made us very productive.
The Redrum cast album is now streaming everywhere. Welcome back to the Overlook. by @joelovero

It's been a hot minute.

Actually more like a full-on ice age judging by my feed.

Somewhere during that ice age I apparently lost over 130 pounds and rode 3000 Peloton classes, which still feels slightly ridiculous to type.

Along the way I also got all my blood labs into a healthy range, which honestly might be the part I’m proudest of.

It took a long time, a lot of very unglamorous consistency, and more than a few days when I wanted to quit.

A few years ago I lost my dogs, and I kind of drifted away from posting. Social media felt a little strange without them popping up in every other photo.

But life moves forward, so I figured it was time to pop back in with a quick update.

For anyone wondering, no, the weight loss didn’t come from chugging kale smoothies or going full bacon-only diet (though I tried both).

The real answer turned out to be a lot less sexy: tracking what I eat, staying in a caloric deficit, and clipping in for a lot of Power Zone rides on @onepeloton

Recently Peloton invited me into the NYC @pelotonstudios for my 3000th (and 3001st) ride, where I’m fairly certain I sweat enough to fill a kiddie pool.

Massive gratitude to the instructors who helped me.

Peloton instructor appreciation roll call:
@denis__morton — my decision is to take all your suggestions

@christianvdv — pro cycling wisdom always on point

@mattwilpers — Wizard of Power Zone my FTP Power to weight 2.8w/kg

@iamicaniwillido — can I be an honorary member of the Hot & Cold Crew?

@yoiamsamyo — your 60-minute Video Store ride is my all-time favorite

@emmalovewell — your Coldplay ride makes me sob while PR’ing

@pelotonjenn — ending your 60-minute Mixtape ride with “I Sing the Body Electric” from Fame might be the greatest f’ing moment in Peloton history

After (right): what happened when I measured my macros and pedaled like I meant it.

If you're on Peloton, I’m GetUpSer over there.

Stay hungry.
(But like… moderately hungry.)

While hunkering deep down in quarantine, Einstein and Indy have found the inspiration to drop their first Hip-Hop album. by @joelovero

Took this snap right before watching the Islanders blow a 3 goal lead in the 3rd period to the Caps. If Sam & Janice didn't change seats & I didn't slip in a puddle of beer, none of this would have happened. by @joelovero

While we don't have a nativity scene under our Christmas tree, we do have this pivotal scene from BACK TO THE FUTURE. Please note, @michellelovero strung the cable from the clocktower to the lamppost and installed the metal hook on the Delorean so Marty would get back in time.. #geeks #backtothefuture by @joelovero

Woke up this morning to find this red balloon mere steps away from the sewer in front of our house. Either this is some brilliant viral marketing from the folks at @itmovieofficial or we have a clown in our sewer. Great. Just great. #itmovie by @joelovero

Oh, hey Jupiter. (to the right of the moon). by @joelovero

Despite the pouring rain and lightning, first time in Fenway was a success. @phish raged hard last night. Wanted a Carini set 1 opener & got one! Thanks to @pcharbojr for the primo choice of seats soundwise, only a few rows from the Red Sox dugout. Surreal being in Fenway. Beautiful ballpark. by @joelovero

Seems like a lot of rules for a @phish show. by @joelovero
