There are a lot of other people doing this same thing… Getting on this app to do some variation of what I’m doing. I know that.

I’m doing this for one reason…

I believe we are created by God and He has called us to create. So, I don’t want to spend any more time on this app consuming without putting something else back out into the world.

There are a lot of other people doing this same thing, but none of them are me.

I’m grateful you’re here.

Day 1 this Saturday 🗓️

The time is now to take that idea out of drafts.

I’ve been golfing for a little while now and I’ve made it far enough to consistently shoot in low to mid 80s, which is about a 8-9 handicap. Pretty average I’d say, especially for someone who’s been playing as long as I have. But, like any of us who get close to breaking 80, I BELIEVE there is greatness within me lol.

So, I’m going to try and go from average to amateur…
And make no mistake, being “Amateur” at golf is actually really good… like top 0.1% of all golfers good.

I need to get down to a 5.4 handicap to compete in a qualifier for a state amateur event. So, I’ll start there and figure out the rest later. This should be fun lol…

And so, the journey begins.

If you’ve made it this far down into my caption, you’re a real one.

I’d like to personally welcome you to #AverageToAmateurJoe - a series following my journey of getting better at golf and maybe one day being good enough to play in a State Amateur.

Thanks for following along 🫶 by @joemalonegolfs

3 weeks in to the Average To Amateur Joe series and these are my takeaways so far…

• Leave your swing thoughts on the range
• Take your time during your pre-shot routine
• Don’t have unrealistic expectations

It’s easy once you start recording to start caring too much about what people think. Whether it’s how you play, what people on the course think of you recording or the expectations you have for yourself.

Going forward, I’m trusting the swing I have on the course that day, sticking to my pre-shot routine and not expecting every round to be better than my last. by @joemalonegolfs

favorite day in the series yet 🫡 here is a glimpse into my mind during a range session…

I’m feeling REALLY good about the progress we’re making with the swing. This partnered with the right mindset out on the course could get dangerous.

Did I miss any brands?

I’ve been excited to make this video since I started this account…

So much of my love for this game has been fueled by the cool people building cool brands that have a positive impact on the culture of the game.

These are my top 3 right now:
