I’m making this post with the heaviest heart… this morning around 5am my beautiful grandmother, Connie, went home to be with the Lord. 3 weeks short of her 85th birthday that she was so excited about. Today has been so incredibly difficult. If you know my family, you know my grandmother was our rock. Wherever we were… “Nonnie Connie” was never far behind. Every holiday, every Sunday, every party, every get together, you could count on grandma being in her spot on the couch. And to say she was loved by all would honestly be an understatement…

Everybody that knew her has a story, if not multiple. The love she had for those she cared about was enormous. The laughs and the memories that she has brought us over the years seem infinite. I’ve found myself laughing along with the tears today, as I’ve heard old stories told over the phone. While today has been brutal, hearing so many people speak so highly and fondly of her has made today so bittersweet. She meant so much to so many, and I know how amazing that would make her feel. Plain and simple… She was an angel walking this earth.

I’ve reflected a lot on today. I’ve realized how lucky my sister and I are to have had such a hands-on, involved, loving, supportive grandmother. Not only just to have her, to have her for 27 years (24 for Macy). We could never repay her for the sacrifices she made for us and our family. In my opinion, nobody will ever hold a candle to the woman that she was. One day when I have kids, they’ll be sure to know how amazing their Nonnie Connie was.

My heart is broken. My grandmother was my person, my world. For 27 years I was the luckiest grandson. I’m sure I will share stories on here over the next week with you all to show you how lucky I was.

85 years seems so long, yet it’s somehow still not enough time. But she is now with my grandfather again, and I know that is making her beam with happiness.

Tonight I sat and watched the sunset on the golf course. And I watched my grandmother paint it her favorite shade of purple. I know she’s with Jesus.

Rest in Peace Grandma Connie. The sweetest soul I’ve ever known and ever will... Until we meet again. ❤️ by @joenoto
