I’m excited to share a new project of mine with the world. Through it I will be expressing not only my observations, thoughts, and feelings about music but also myself.

Since January there has been brainstorming and white-boarding, writing and rewriting, shooting and editing, and, most of all, learning. In many ways I feel my whole life has been preparing me for this endeavor. If you are deeply curious about and moved by music I want you to join me.

Starting June 12th I will be releasing videos on my new YouTube channel, meant for you.

I’m Joe Sonza. Together we’ll reveal how music connects us with others, culture, and ourselves.

There’s a moment when no one else is at the gym, the studio, the lab. The court is quiet, the lights are dim, your thoughts are still. In that silence—when no one is watching, when there are no crowds—you chop wood, you carry water. It doesn’t get easy. You feel like quitting. For years, I’ve felt that’s been me.

And now, after years of grinding behind the scenes, I’m proud to announce that my upcoming song “Janitor Time” will be featured on NBA 2K25.

For those of you who are working hard on your passion, I may not see you, but I know you are there. I wish I could guarantee you it will pay off, but only God knows the outcome. It’s like one of my good friends told me: You control the effort.

Keep going—even when the only people left in the building are you and the janitor.

If I had it my way, it’s night, you’re in your room, lights off, eyes closed, you get your best headphones/speakers ready, and you immerse yourself in ‘Halloween’ twice. You can listen to it starting with the first song and ending with the last. Or backwards starting with the last song and ending with the first. It’s designed to be listened to in either direction - choose your own path, choose both.

…Time time time. Time, patience, and gratitude, God’s antidote for me.

I hope you enjoy - happy fall & happy Halloween. This 10-song EP is available everywhere - link in bio. by @joesonza
