Wonderfully Mine | track 07 🦋✨

This song holds such a special place in my corazón !!! b/c the foundation of it is literally, my son Kanan’s heartbeat 🥹 Back in 2024, I took the actual heartbeat recording from one of his ultrasounds & worked w/ the sound til’ it became a percussive element ✨🫶🏼 built a rhythm around those heartbeat sounds— so his little heartbeat became the pulse & foundation that drives the track. 🤍

What a blessing it is to take a little piece of a beautiful moment like that & turning it into music !!! ✨ love that his heartbeat is forever woven into this.

I also had the joy of having two incredible musicians bring their own life to this one. @bubbylewis recorded the bass & absolutely killed it!!! He is incredibly gifted, I’m always so grateful for the time he makes for independent artists + the opportunity he gives us to have musicians like him contribute to our music. Truly such a sweet & genuine person !!!⚡️

@michael_d_howse played electric guitar & he always, ALWAYS creates something dope, completely his own. The guitar gives the song so much LIFE & brings a refreshing groove to it !! He always contributes w/ intention, adding exactly what it needs. Truly a joy to partner w/ Mike + I never take it for granted !!! ⋆｡♪ ₊˚♬ ﾟ.

& now… it’s time to create a song for my sweet beloved Jedi. 🥹 Until then, I hope u enjoy this sweet one!! Gave my Kanan the spotlight @ the end 🥰 by @joevannnah

Look At Me | track 03 🖤

This song was originally supposed 2 be a filler song !! 🥹 I needed something to bridge the transition between ‘In the Middle’ & ‘Pilgrim’ b/c jumping straight into ‘Pilgrim’ felt a little too sudden. So I thought, okay… I just need something to fill the gap!! 🙈

& then “Look At Me” happened ⚡️⚡️

What I never could have comprehended @ the time was how much this song would become 2 me. It ended up being so much more than a transition— it became a song I fell in loooove w/ 𑣲⋆｡˚ ⟡˖ ࣪

I was reading through Isaiah quite a bit when I wrote it & so much of what I was taking in @ that time found its way into the foundation of this song.

I recently got to sing this one on acoustic & i was blown away… it sounds so good stripped back. 🥹 1 day I’d love to record that version too !!✨

When I sent it over to @michael_d_howse, he took what was in my head + heart & brought it to life in a way I couldn’t have imagined. I’m continually amazed & blessed by what these songs become. He absolutely rocked it on electric 🎸😭

Every song on this project holds a different piece of my heart & getting to share even a glimpse w/ everyone means more to me than I can say 🫶🏼!!! by @joevannnah

IN THE MIDDLE — Track 02 🖤

I’ve always loved when 1 track naturally becomes the doorway into the next !!! When you’re not just listening to an album, but it’s like a portal (that’s how it goes in my head lol).

‘In the Middle’ is that next step after ‘Glory’s Shield’ ⚡️⚡️

This one has a little more grit, a little more rock & a side of me that I luvvvv to let loose !!!🦋 oh man, what a dream it would be to sing this song LIVE w/ a full band/orchestra 😭

& once again, I can’t talk about this song or this album w/ out giving flowers to @michael_d_howse. The audio engineer of this album & absolutely rocked out on guitar + bass for this song as well w/ multiple projects. It was such a huge part of the vision that he absolutely understood !!! 😭😭😭 Always grateful for how he helps bring it to fruition 🌳

If you press play on track 01 & listen til’ track 02 you’ll notice how cooool it transitions !!! I just knew they needed 2 be together 🎸 by @joevannnah

EDEN 🌿✨ — track 10

This song is SO groovy & was honestly one of my fave songs to produce as welll, agh i got a love for every song of mine tbh 😭

& this time, I had my 2 lil’ guests w/ me 💙🩵 Just the ordinary life— me creating, my boys chilling + vibing in their own little world, completely unbothered 😂 They really are the greatest gifts & somehow they’ve become part of the story behind the music too !!! Thank You Lord ꨄ︎₊˚⊹

& I can’t talk about this song w/ out giving flowers to @michael_d_howse for recording electric guitar & as previously mentioned— mixing & mastering this project. 🎸🔥 He is incredibly gifted & brought so much life to this song.

In this particular verse, I’m reminded of this beautiful passage in Isaiah 61:11 “For as the earth produces its growth, and as a garden enables what is sown to spring up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.” ⚡️⚡️ May my soul continually bring praise !!! ˚❀.˚✦ by @joevannnah

Releasing musical content in the daytime? Imma count my blessings lol 🙈!!!

I’ve accepted that evenings/nights are probably going to be my usual time in this season of life— so the fact that I actually got to create + post this during the day feels like a win ⚡️⚡️

This is Track 8 — “CALL” from my album 🌸⋆˚✿˖°

I’m working on NEW originals that bring in more acoustic elements + other textures, while also exploring some more stripped•down versions that are still in the making 🫶🏼

Track 01 | Glory’s Shield ✨

One of my fave things about creating music is getting to blend worlds— this one has orchestral elements, hip-hop, layered harmonies, vocals, + musical textures that I absolutely LOVED producing.

& of course, my gifted friend @michael_d_howse (who also happens to be the audio engineer behind this project 🎶🎶🎶) helped bring it all to life & included the electric guitar @ the end causing that “glitch effect” that transitions us into the next song.

I’m also a BIG album•order person !!!🫣 I love listening to a record from beginning to end & letting each song lead you into the next. So I had to make the transition out of this one intentional !!!⚡️🎸

The next track takes us into a completely different genre & we just ROCK OUT lol !!! 🤘🏼

I love when an album feels like a journey. This one was so much fun to create. 🖤 by @joevannnah
