Long overdue post

“Thank You Ryan For A Clean Microwave” has concluded at @theshedny at the end of June. Thanks to the hundreds of backers and patrons who have helped us see this through.

This play constantly reminds me on reclaiming the joy of storytelling. There is power in process over results. There is freedom in gathering a band of ragtag artists to play in a room. There is courage in allowing failure with room for growth. There is vulnerability but also connection.

I’m grateful to all the folks in this project who helped me be a better artist, and in turn, a better person.

May we continue to tell stories Four actors huddled around a table playing cards. by @joeycaverly

Meet the Gallaudet France Study Abroad group!

Students have been learning LSF, international sign, and French Deaf history, while preparing for their upcoming performances! Stay tuned for more updates and antics!

James Caverly (@joeycaverly) and Andrew Morrill (@and.morrill ) take us on a sharp, funny, and fiercely humane journey in a play set between a Deaf-run coffee shop and a writer’s imagination as two narrators battle to shape a story about love, trauma, and who gets to tell whose truth.

Free tickets now available for “Thank You Ryan for a Clean Microwave” presented as part of “Open Call: Stages.” Performances Jun 26 & 27 only! by @joeycaverly

It’s hardly “performative,” when it’s actually performance ART.

“Open Call: Stages” spotlights the next wave of performance artists giving life, sound, and texture to stories that don’t sit still!

A mysteriously cleaned microwave. A reimagining of humanity through the eyes of the ocean’s most sentient being. Cassette tapes bending time and memory. A naturalization oath echoed through music. Labor, lineage, and survival airing out in real time💨

Catch the works unfolding this summer in “Open Call: Stages.” Shed member early ticket access begins Wed, May 20! Tickets available to the general public on Wed, May 27.

It’s Opening Night for “Trash”!

It’s taken five long years to get this show off the ground, from our little one-act sow to a fully fledged production. This wouldn’t have happened without @ootbtheatrics and @pac_nyc

Most of my gratitude goes to my friend and conspirator @and.morrill who pushes me to be a better artist and a better person. Thank you for all the talks, laughs, and beers over the years.

To @npclaridad and @ameliaxhensley , thank you for your love and care for this project. To @chrisogren4president who’s been with us since day one, who believed in this show and in us. To @vishgram and @beckyspigs28 who brought life to our characters. Thank you all.

There are far too many people to thank:
