Mary already had a beautiful natural shape, but wanted sharper lines and less warmth in her brow color. For this Brow Blueprint, Irina used strategic tweezing and trimming to create more definition, then blended a cooler tint to deepen the color and bring out finer hairs. The darker shade adds contrast against her skin, while the refined shape gives her brows a crisp, polished finish. No dramatic overhaul needed, just a few well-placed adjustments✨ by @joeyhealybrows

In the 1970s, Pam Grier emerged as a groundbreaking new kind of action hero. Starring in Coffy (1973) and Foxy Brown(1974), she became the defining face of the Blaxploitation era, breaking into a genre where leading roles had largely belonged to men. She was fearless on screen and unapologetically glamorous.

Her eyebrows were an essential part of that performance. In this 1974 portrait, they’re dark and dramatically arched, rising to a sharp peak before sweeping into a tapered tail. The exaggerated shape gave her expressions a distinctly fierce edge. Grier knew how to act with her brows, raising them in disbelief or sharpening her gaze into a warning. They were as expressive as her dialogue.

Paired with dramatic makeup and her signature Afro, those sculpted arches challenged the conventional image of an action hero. Grier could throw a punch without sacrificing an ounce of sex appeal. Her beauty was never at odds with her power.

Decades later, the brows are lighter and softer, but there’s still a playful lift that recalls the formidable women she portrayed on screen. Her look has evolved, but the attitude hasn’t. Pam Grier’s brows have always meant business ✨ by @joeyhealybrows
