Merdeka spirit! It takes a village to make a film. 🎬❤️我的女中豪杰姐妹们，爱你们❤️🫶🤭 When I started HER SECOND ACT, I was a first-time female director (no track record, no film background, just a crazy dream to make a woman film about family and passion, midlife identity) These women believed in me before there was even a film to believe in. 🫶They volunteered, shared their resources, and even dragged their friends & families in to help asking for nothing in return. Some helps me organize collab events, sell film to HK, motivate me with their endurance fighting spirit, connect me with more powerful leaders.. one by one really, it’s a meaningful journey with them This film was made possible by women lifting another woman up. ❤️ Forever grateful. Because our fighting spirit, we strive! We will keep pushing the limit ! More than a film, it’s a movement! Her Second Act wishes to empower people to dream again, rediscover purpose, and transform their lives. TERBANG!! Before Her Second Act can terbang, watch Terbang first!! Watch it in cinema now!! As a first-time female director, sometimes watching a film by a super experienced director is honestly SO enjoyable. ❤️ You learn, you get inspired, and sometimes… you become a little fan too! 😂 Congrats @chiudao @withgabrielle and whole amazing team, thanks @cerventus for the invitation ! Especially when I feel stuck, I remind myself: everyone has their own journey. Their first film. Their struggles. Their years of learning. And of course… I came home immediately, took out my own movie poster for comparison. 🤣 Kiasu a bit lah! Okay… not too bad. Her Second Act also got kereta also. 🚗Just… cannot terbang yet. 😂✈️ One day lah! I’m sure I can make it! Watch #Terbang now, and then #HerSecondAct next year 2027 lolz🫶✌️❤️ #HerSecondAct #Terbang #JoeyLeeChoiKin taken in GSC Mid Valley Megamall by @joeyleechoikin

Douglas’s character as the conservative husband “David” is crafted way before my script is born when I was in Busan 2022! When I emailed him for the first time, in my mind, “do or die”! Must get him onboard, and yes thankful for his support and love for the story Douglas Lim Breaks New Ground with First Dramatic Lead in HER SECOND ACT, Selected for DANAFF and MIFFest Blending humour, heart and emotional honesty, the film follows Sandra, a middle-aged mother whose unexpected cycling victory disrupts the quiet routine of family life.
