About last weekend: I have spent a 3-day Weekend with @gijs_bboy at @thenotoriousibe Hip Hop 🔥 festival in Heerlen (NL) .

❤️Great to see Gijs shining in his natural habitat with likeminded bboys and bgirls.

❤️So nice to meet so many great and open people sharing the same passion for hiphop and dance.

👉Special thanks 🙏to his breaking coach Edney and the @from_favela Crew 💛💚 for making it again even more special for Gijs.

Enjoy !

Contacteer Cosmo, Edney of mijzelf gerust hierover.

Keep dreaming my boy, the world is yours!

Much love ❤️ and thanks for being in my life.

From your biggest fan in the front row seat,

About last weekend: Gijs and I went back for a trip to the @world_kidz_breaking_champion in the Dragon City of Ljublijana, Slovenia.

Again a weekend filled with breaking, sun, fun, great people and good food.

Gijs ( @bboy_g_force ) participated in the 1vs1 U14 category among some highly skilled bboys from all over the world. He managed to get far and upto the quarter final (Top 7) but lost against superkid @bboy__nana (what a great power round he did). We had seen Nana already last year at @thenotoriousibe 's @crashfestworldwide , nothing but love for him. It will take a while and many hours of training to get to this level of airflares and headspins, but we are always up for a challenge.

Super proud of how Gijs kept fighting like a real warrior, battle after battle even with an injury in his neck (it's already better now). I saw Gijs enjoying on the big stage with every beat, every move and every vote. Special thanks to @saidon_lcb for his coaching and motivations during the battles.
As a father you can do many things but despite all the battles I have seen, I am not a breaking coach (yet) :-)
So it is always nice to get some help and support on the sidelines.

Also nice to see Gijs was backed up by other Belgian and Dutch bboys during his battles (online and on the sidelines live). Thank you guys and girls, much appreciated.

I also want to thank @og.samson.official , the DJ's, the Judges and the whole WKBC team for organizing this battle, it was again a pleasure for us Also cool the WKBC Social Media team picks up every post, story and video. So nice too see that ;-)

Always impressed by the energy of the MC's @godfatherdpc and @remo_onthemic for hyping the crowd again and again and bringing their flavour.

Gijs and I really enjoyed a weekend full of breaking and nice city walks in the sun.

Ljublijana's coffee and sweets culture took us by suprise. How good was that.

And of course I had to get a taste of the local sneaker stores. Always impressed what they have sitting in the stores.

International battles like these are great for the kids to get out of their comfort zone and to feed & build their dreams.

Looking already forward to the next event ! taken in Ljubljana, Slovenja by @jogijbels

Jaan 11 jaar !

When I told Gijs about our surprise weekend to @_groove_session_ in Neuchâtel Switzerland, he answered me with tears of joy and his biggest hug of all time.

We had to shift some things for this long roadtrip from Belgium to Swiss, but his reaction was already worth it.

Sportslife can be a rollercoaster sometimes, but I am happy we are in this together.

Creating this bonding with my son, coaching him and supporting his dreams is great.

Where ever this route may lead to, we are for sure enjoying it together.

Next big battles on his list: Legacy League Meise @breakingvlaanderen , @unbreakable_breaking_champs Leuven & @championnat.wallon.de.breaking Namur.

Let's go !

Ps: thanks to @gythje and @jaan_otaku for supporting Gijs in his journey and for missing us not too hard when we are away abroad.

Had a great time in Porto last week at the WDSF Youth Olympic Qualifier Battle & the @theworldbattle

5 days filled with Breaking Battles & Workshops, Gym Training, Portuguese Food, Beach Talks, City Walks and lot's of fun and friendship.

Shout out to the @from_favela Crew for being present and dancing with @bboy_g_force in the 2vs2 Generational Battle and the 2vs2 Powermove Battle.

Special thanks to coaches & mentors @jordi__msc & @saidon_lcb for being around the battles with their so valuable feedback for Gijs during his breaking journey.

Much entertainment came from the kids from @collisioncrewleuven as usual, with a very funny game at the airport :-)

Missing @jaan_otaku and @gythje who were on a weekend away a bit closer to home. While we were away Jaan made some amazing drawings and artworks.

Looking forward to future battles like this in the future.

About last weekend: we traded the live beats and lyrics of @zwangere.guy, @doechii and @dikke.be for the moves of @philkwizard , @bboy__nana and @from_favela Crew, including dope Hip Hop vibes at @thenotoriousibe

It was so much fun to see and experience so many dancers full of energy together with Gijs and his Breaking friends.

What a positive and cheerful atmosphere at this event.

Gijs is fully charged and more excited than ever about Breaking.

Next stop: the @theworldbattle in Porto next week for the WDSF World Breaking Champs Battle for the qualifiers of the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar 2026.

Ps: special thanks to @allan_biohazardcrew for your 1-on-1 powermove training this week!

IBE, see you next year !

His team was an unstoppable source of energy, as always.

Many thanks to their great trainer & coach @jochem_verjans for bringing this team together and let them grow as a team and as kids. Great job !

Fingers crossed for the team to win the Hockey U11 championship this season.

Ps: also thanks for inspiring me to go running more :-)
