PET scan results are in. Not perfect, but there are real signs of response and I’m choosing to say.. this ain’t bad 🙏

Both spots in my lungs are less active than my last scan, and one nodule shrank from 1.7 cm to 1.0 cm.
Several lesions in my skull showed less activity too, one down by more than a third.

Multiple lesions in my bones are less active, which the report says it mean a good response to treatment. And nothing clearly new showed up in my bones.

It’s not all good news though A few small spots in my spine and sacrum got more active, and there’s still structural damage in parts of my spine. So this isn’t saying the cancer is gone.

But after everything my body has been through, seeing the evidence that some of the cancer is getting smaller is good news to me 💛 by @johanfightscancer

Part 3: They gave me a word for it. Terminal.
Here’s the part that doesn’t fit: I’ve felt better for the last week after months of pain and agony. Stronger. Clearer. More like myself than I’ve been since this started.

Since June I’ve been fighting to get into this clinical trial. Lu-Targo in LA. Nobody has promised me a cure and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. What I’ve been told is that it’s promising. That’s enough for me to keep making the calls.

It keeps getting postponed. Months now. I should have been in the trial since last week, but now they’re telling me October for group 2 - and even that is not a guarantee.

So I train, I eat, I sleep, I show up, and I pray to get into this trial because

Part 2: Lungs finally healed two weeks ago. So they moved me straight into chemo.

Not to cure me… to only buy time. Five rounds of IE, back to back.

The whole time, there’s a trial in LA that could actually get me clear. I was supposed to be there a week ago.

I wasn’t. Nobody’s told me why yet. More in part 3
