Here’s the story of how I became a content creator…

I’ve never shared much about my short but meaningful adventure as the owner of a quaint little gift shop. While some might see closing it as a misstep, I see it as one of the most valuable chapters in my journey. It taught me so much about curating beauty, finding joy in the little things, and embracing the charm of the old-world style I love so much.

That experience shaped who I am today and completely transformed how I create a warm, cozy home- something I now share with all of you.

Before I discovered my own style, I was heavily influenced by Studio McGee’s beautiful designs. However, my home never truly felt like mine and didn’t reflect my personal taste.

Over the past two years, I have learned how to add character to my home, making the space feel fresh, inviting, and more personalized. Here are several ways to achieve this:

1. Decorative Accents: new artwork, throw pillows, rugs, or unique knick-knacks can instantly change the vibe. These small additions can bring color, texture, and personality.

2. Lighting: adding different light fixtures, like pendant lights, floor lamps, can dramatically change the atmosphere of a room.

3. Rearranging Furniture: Sometimes, simply moving existing furniture can breathe new life into a space. A new layout can change how a room feels and functions.

4. Wallpaper or Paint: Adding a fresh coat of paint or using wallpaper can give a room a completely different look. I like to use muted colors as neutrals.

5. Plants and Greenery: Adding indoor plants not only brings life into the space but also helps create a calming and natural environment. I love to use aged terracotta pots and thrifted unmatched saucers.

6. Textiles: Switching out curtains, throws, or bedding can add a new layer of style to a room. It’s a great way to introduce color or pattern/florals to your spaces.

One last home tour before we say goodbye to our forever home in 2026. 🥹

In 2025, life quietly shifted.
A promotion, an unexpected turn, and the realization that our family would soon be moving 850 km away to a new city.

This year is filled with uncertainty, mixed emotions, and the courage that comes with change.

We bought this house years ago and shaped it slowly, allowing my interior style to evolve with us over time. Every wall, every antique, every small detail was chosen with intention, to create a place that felt warm, grounding, and safe. A home where we could exhale.

These rooms have held our routines, our celebrations, our quiet moments, and our growth as a family. Letting go is not easy, but neither is staying still when life asks you to move forward.

If you’re drawn to old-world charm, lived-in beauty, and homes with soul, stay with me.

We’ll be selling this home and beginning again, creating something new, in a new city, for the next chapter of our story.

Christmas tree 2025

For this year’s tree, I created a wonderland fairytale tree for my kids.

I really wanted to place the tree in the middle of the room so we could admire it from every angle, but it ended up touching the ceiling. That meant our usual star tree topper was completely out of the question. So instead, we got creative and turned it into a fun little DIY project, making an oversized, flocked acorn to crown the tree. Honestly, it might be my favourite topper yet. It adds the sweetest woodland touch and makes the whole tree feel even more magical.

We filled the tree with little birds and deer, acorns, pine cones, ribbons, dried whole oranges, colourful vintage-style tassels, candles and a popcorn garland.

It brings such a sweet, nostalgic magic to our home, and seeing the girls’ faces light up makes it even more special. ✨

This year, I wanted my Christmas tree to feel like stepping into a storybook… the kind where the forest glows, tiny creatures hide between the branches, and every ornament feels like it carries a memory.

I didn’t want a “trendy” look or the colour of the season. I wanted a tree that felt alive with charm and childhood imagination, like the trees I used to dream about. So I followed that feeling.

Colourful tassels, twinkling lights, woodland details, some new ornaments and all the little treasures I’ve collected over the years… it all came together in the most magical way.

Sometimes the most beautiful decor isn’t the most current, it’s the one that makes your heart feel warm, nostalgic, and a little bit enchanted. ✨🌿

Not everything needs to blend in.
A phone can look like a phone.

Let’s normalize that 🥲

I’ll admit, I used to do everything to camouflage the tv… put it on an art easel, hang it with a DIY frame, you name it.

But after rearranging the living room, I’m actually starting to love it sitting on a beautiful vintage console.

Why does the TV need a costume anyway? 👀

Living Room Update ✨
Over the past couple of months, I’ve completely transformed my living room, layer by layer. This space is now filled with a mix of antiques and vintage pieces but I felt it needed something to anchor it all and create a cohesive feel.

The missing piece turned out to be a modern rug! Something clean and understated that would let the character of the room shine while grounding the space visually. I ended up choosing a rug from the beautiful Leanne Ford x Loloi collaboration, in the Craven collection. @leannefordinteriors

Leanne’s new collections are inspired by The Secret Garden, which is where the names Craven and Weatherstaff come from, such a poetic nod that makes the design feel extra special. The subtle texture and modern pattern of this rug contrast so nicely with the patina of the vintage furniture, striking the perfect balance between old and new. 🤗
