Sooooo let’s call this #TheaterThursday lol

…..back in March I had a performance(finally got my hands on the footage)! I was apart of a piece called “The Slave Letters Concert” by the very talented Michael Dawson Conner
I will forever be a child of the stage, and it is my happy place. And I was honored to bring to life this letter. Here is an excerpt from the Concert. The Slave Letters are authentic letters written by slaves and former slaves.

This Sunday! Feb. 22nd 2pm. It’s free!!!

For the first time, this account discloses a collection of original letters from the 19th century, revealing the correspondence between black slaves and their American masters. These shocking and authentic documents, dating back to the darkest period in American history, are accompanied by contemporaneous interviews and period illustrations. In addition, two insightful essays provide the author’s own commentary on the themes and issues raised in this striking record. by @johari____

Happy Birthday to Me
To all my Geminis, WE DA BEST (in my Dj Khaled voice)!!!!
There are so many things I want for myself. Make my dreams come true, share all my talents with the world, singing, acting, stand up comedy, health goals, healthy beautiful relationships, financial freedom. Unconditional love for myself, a closer relationship with God. Also things like a new apartment, more vacations, new elevated wardrobe,a bomb ass blonde pixie cut! It’s time for the big chop lol

What I got this year was so much better. It really wasn’t any of the things I mentioned, YET!

I finally got the pen to my book!
And it’s not a fresh new book, there are many hard and beautiful chapters written before. BUT! There are hundreds and thousands of fresh sheets, just waiting to be filled up. And I have the pen! Whew God is so good.

Just that feeling, that true realization has changed my life and my view on my life and circumstances.

Here’s to Chapter 32!

There will be ups and down but I’m gonna write the HELL outta my story. taken in Los Angeles, California by @johari____

Heyyy guys! Bringing back my musical theater songs. I sang this song while at Carnegie Mellon and it’s always held a special place in my heart. It’s such a beautiful song. Enjoy!
