I’d been dabbling a little bit with tiles when in 2024 @michael.stukan approached me with a dream commission. He entrusted me to make a tiled splashback for his lovely kitchen.

Over the next 18 months I got to take my time making tiles in between my other projects. Sometimes I made a few tiles in a row, and some months I didn’t make any. It was really nice to be able to take my time and make mistakes, and also learn how to make them pretty well. Some are made from stained clay, or stencilled and hand painted with stained slips. All were made by me with a rolling pin and wooden tracks, then cut out by hand. Thanks to the actual tile king @mattrawworksinclay for installing this, and thanks again Michael for your patience and for letting me have fun with this. by @john_booth

@supergroupprojects’ Bronto tableware in @mhlbymargarethowell stores in London and Japan.

It’s always a pleasure to see Bronto stocked in @mhlbymargarethowell. Last year we had a display cabinet of our original design and process for the collection in the Coal Drops Yard store.

You’ll see that from some of the early design drawings in the display cabinet that initially Bronto was going to be stripy, we ended up settling for block colours, which I think was a good choice, as much as I like a stripe.

Bronto launched in 2022 for @hem, designed by @supergroupprojects under the creative direction of Laura Houseley @modern_design_review by @john_booth

‘Oddments’, the new collection by @supergroupprojects for @theconranshopofficial

It’s been a pleasure to develop this new collection, which features some reworks of Supergroup favourites like the snail and the flower, alongside some new floral shaped vessels for your storage needs, a house vase and a mobile.

As a long standing fan of The Conran shop, it’s a total honour to have the opportunity to design a collection of objects for them alongside @_ianmcintyre_

Thank you to everyone at @theconranshopofficial for working on this with us so closely. Thanks to Gemma Matthias @smith.matthias, Laura Houseley @modern_design_review and to @londonbookarts for letting us shoot the collection in your beautiful library.

Making tiles is still a relatively new part of my practise, and a recent commission allowed me to play around with making tiles more extensively. I really enjoyed treating each tile as its own sort of individual art work whilst also considering in the back of my mind how they might all look together.

New @supergroupprojects ceramic bananas developed for @proofofconcept.show on show now at @aramgalleryldn @aramldn

Our new giant press moulded bananas have been a lot of fun to work on, as you can see. They are a mixture between hand painted and slipped, then glazed in either a clear or amber colour. The bananas are on show and available to purchase, please contact store@aram.co.uk for enquiries.

To mark the launch of @supergroupprojects Oddments collection with @theconranshop.korea, they have partnered up with @usmmodularfurniture via @spacelogickorea to display the range of objects including an exclusive range of tshirts and other apparel we have designed especially for the launch.

I’m very happy to have contributed to ‘MERRY CHAIR GO ROUND’ at @d.o.n.u.t._x_you . The gallery asked artists and designers for fabrics to upholster beautiful refurbished versions of Yrjö Kukkapuro’s chair A-504. @livelikeakukkapuro

I have done two floral designs embroidered onto heavy canvas adapted from hand drawn collages on paper.

BRONTO is a tableware collection for @hem designed by @_ianmcintyre_ and myself under our ongoing collaborative design project @supergroupprojects. Originally launched in 2022 with the plate, mug and espresso cup, and then adding the bowl and egg cup in 2023, a lot of love and joy went into the design process, and we think this is reflected in the pieces. I absolutely love using it day to day. Thank you to Laura at @modern_design_review for your input and thanks to @hem for developing this with us. The BRONTO collection is available to purchase from @hem 🥚 by @john_booth

The @supergroupprojects ‘Oddments’ mobile designed for @theconranshopofficial. It’s made from powder coated metal and is a direct translation from our hand painted and collaged design.
