A special concert was just announced to benefit actor and singer, @aaronscottlazar in his home state of #NewJersey. This is a photo of Aaron and @realkatebaldwin in 2022 when they co-starred in the musical The Bridges of Madison County. I interviewed them both during this production at @axelrodarts. Much later Aaron revealed publicly that as rehearsals began for that show, he had been diagnosed with #ALS also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Aaron, a Broadway veteran, delivered a beautiful, compelling, sexy, all-encompassing performance in words and song despite what surely was a life changing and heavy weight that had just been placed upon him. On August 31st, many #Broadway artists led by Kate, whom I have come to know and respect deeply, are performing a concert to raise funds to assist Aaron. He has done extraordinary work these past few years…recorded a Grammy nominated album ( @impossibledreamalbum ) , performed live concerts, acted in television roles, and launched and maintains his uplifting podcast @impossibledreamspodcast all while he seeks to find a cure for ALS. The concert, “Extraordinary: Broadway Sings For Aaron Lazar” will be August 31st at @belltheateratbellworks in #Holmdel, tickets on sale July 24th. Saturday night I saw Beaches ( @beachesthemusical ) the new #Broadway musical comedy….with its heart-tugging moments if you know the story…adapted from the 1989 film. @jessicavosk plays the Bette Midler part. Jessica is a natural comedic performer who delivers a line with timing and punch and makes it look easy.
