When the voice carries everything the heart cannot say… this is @the_sound_of_saudade . 🎶🇵🇹

A journey through Fado, Jazz, Bossa Nova and Soul—where Portuguese tradition meets new sounds, and every song tells a story of love, memory, longing and belonging.

Carmelia Mar — singing from the heart, with every part of my soul. ❤️

🇵🇹✨ ARTIST REVEAL: AVA ✨🇮🇷🇬🇧

We’re excited to welcome AVA to FluentinBoth: Casa do Fado! 🎶

Based in Nottingham, Ava are an Anglo-Persian musical group fronted by Iranian vocalist @minafatemimusic @miminnai and British guitarist @johnberry60

Blending poetic Farsi vocals with acoustic and flamenco-inspired guitar, their music creates a beautiful bridge between Western and Middle Eastern folk traditions. 🌍🎸

Their connection to Fado began during time spent in Lisbon’s historic Alfama neighbourhood, where they fell in love with the music and emotion of the tradition. For Casa do Fado, they’ll be bringing that connection into their own distinctive sound. ❤️

🎟️ Tickets are on sale now! Spaces are limited, so get yours early via the Linktree in our bio.

🇵🇹✨ ARTIST REVEAL: FADO VADIO ✨🇵🇹

Some of you might remember them… and we’re very happy to have them back! ❤️🎶

@thefadovadiomusic return to FluentinBoth for Casa do Fado, bringing the raw emotion, storytelling and saudade at the heart of Portuguese Fado.

Led by @jr.sonic.zone Fado Vadio bring an intimate and authentic approach to the tradition, where voice, guitar and poetry come together to tell stories of love, longing, loss and everything that sometimes feels easier to sing than to say. 🎸🖤

After joining us previously at FluentinBoth, it only felt right to welcome them back for a night dedicated to exploring the world and emotion of Fado.

🎟️ Tickets are on sale now! Spaces are limited, so get yours early via the Linktree in our bio.

Homeland is out now.
An acoustic version, sung in agony, for a homeland bombed from the outside and tortured from within.

Available on Apple, Amazon, Spotify and other music platforms.

Home is a breath caught in my throat
Home is a fear-struck silence
Home is born in captivity
With the painful feeling of a bitter exile
Home is running in endless pain
Home is the silence of this cold night
Home is a vague hope that never comes true
Home is an unequal fight
Between a hundred men and a lone woman
Home is a place full of sorrow
Where the sky rains poison
Home is an unhealed wound
A heart torn apart by longing
Home is a sigh of regret
To return as a pilgrim
Home is the sound of my mother’s lullaby
Among the sounds of people crying
Calling me home.

Thanks @johnberry60
for the guitar and spontaneous recording.

Thanks @yoursonguk for motivating me to share my voice with the world.
