I like so many am devastated with the loss of Dolly Parton. She was and will always be a light. There were so many songs of hers that I loved and most recently Rockstar, and her giving Beyoncé her full support in her cover of Jolene, but her unexpected cover of “Shine” is one of my true faves. I loved also how she was an ally to so many and championed so many causes and made millions of lives better.

These pics are from a few months ago when I spontaneously visited the Country Music Hall of Fame museum in Nashville and got to see an exhibit honoring her gorgeous life and a few pics don’t do it justice over seeing it live.

Ok, strap in because this is a long post. I’ve heard for years how awesome @stonewallcolumbus’s #columbuspride is via @jessepagan and he let me crash his reunion with a ton of amazing new friends and i had an amazing weekend having great food, drinks and community -
and truly celebrating that last part because that is what pride is truly all about, now more than ever 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Two things are true: this was a fun first night and also any “city” has one or both of the same name gay bars: “eagle” or this one, “union” 😆

Oh so my hotel room? Aggressively O-H-I-O 😆

The Short North district? Iconic.

Entry to the early morning party that these guys threw complete with custom airbrushed t-shirts 🥰

Inside their lovely house and arguably they could just keep this decor year round if they wanted 🥰

This was clearly staged cause surely I couldn’t get sick of Jesse but you know? We need dramatic photos.

Then A.W.O.L. to finish a long day and luckily we got in early cause the line turned out to be like 45 mins deep at one point 🥹

Then the next day…drag queens and kings playing softball? I’m in.

There were like 20+ queens/kings overall braving the heat for the sport of it all

We also got a surprise reunion with the sister 🥰

Finally gathered my thoughts on #TheComeback finale - and honestly, I think the final two minutes completely recontextualized Valerie & Jane’s relationship. Not a big explosive ending… a quiet, earned one about resilience, admiration, and finally being seen. “Sure was fun.” 👩🏼‍🦰

You know that feeling where you love something so much it makes you nervous? That’s me with The Comeback, every single time. OG fan since 2005. Yearly rewatcher. Went to the 2014 premiere. So yeah — season 3 had a lot to live up to. Three episodes in, I have some thoughts, and honestly? A little bit of a hot take. The episode 3 closing scene destroyed me in the best way — but not for the reason you might expect. We need to talk about Tommy. And Jane. And Josh the writer, who is giving very new Paulie G energy. And why I think this season’s most important story is Valerie finally having to grieve Mickey for real.
