Join us as we celebrate the release of our second record, featuring Cutty.

Cutty consistently brings bouncy and psychedelic techy house goodness, beautiful ambient moments, downtempo groovers in the perfect time and place, breaks to make you dance and shake, unexpected twists and turns. Expect a night centered around Cutty's whole approach, delivering propulsive and tasteful tech house with ambient, dubby, tribal, and progressive influences, as he takes us into the wee hours of the night.

Peak time will deliver a special treat, as we invite John Debo to take us on a rare journey deep into his bag. John is undoubtedly a pioneer of underground dance music culture. His club nights at Venus De Milo, Axis, and Avalon in Boston carry legendary status, having laid a strong foundation for the now flourishing electronic music scene in the USA. John has been a mentor and a key resource, featuring as the mix engineer for VSR 002.

As the founder of Vermilion Sun Records, Wiersma will set the tone for the night.

Cutty, 2a-late

As a child, Cutty was allergic to most common pets, prompting him to explore the world of amphibians, mainly...frogs. Each night as he dozed, his room was filled with the chirping of his slinking brothers and sisters. He has been immersed in sound ever since. Since traversing the deepest ravines of local music as a clubber, DJ, producer, label head and promoter, his productions, like his DJ sets, consistently bring unexpected twists and turns. Bouncy and psychedelic techy house goodness, beautiful ambient moments, downtempo groovers in the perfect time and place, breaks to make you dance and shake. VSR 002 encapsulates Cutty's whole approach, delivering propulsive and tasteful tech house with ambient, dubby, tribal, and progressive influences

Matt McKenna’s DJ story starts the way a lot of real ones do. By accident and a little bit of luck.

He’s 16, drives down from Boston to Florida, ends up at some underground rave, and sees Doc Martin playing. Thought it was the guy who made his shoes. Walks into that room and something clicks. He goes home, buys turntables, starts figuring it out.

Then it gets weird.

He finds a beeper at a party. Calls it back. Turns out it belongs to John Debo. Promoters pull up to grab it from him, and just like that he’s in the mix, getting exposed to a whole different level of music and people in Boston.

That’s how it used to happen.

No shortcuts, no playbook, no “how to become a DJ” videos. You show up, you get obsessed, you get lucky once, and you build from there.

We are happy to announce a new social media series we will be doing every Thursday!

Introducing Chrome Classics—a dedicated space to honor the tracks that defined the Lansdowne & Chrome sound. For our first edition, it was only right to pay tribute to the hometown hero’s @johndebo & @djsteveporter and the era that started it all at Axis.

These are the records that built the foundation:
• Slide 2: Steve Porter & John Debo - Deported
• Slide 3: Bernard Leon Howard III feat. 80 - Marscarter (Debo & Porter’s Deported Vocal)
• Slide 4: John Debo - Uh-Yeah 98 (Boston Bruins Remix)

Join us every Thursday as we dig through the archives and celebrate the music that shaped our journey.

Chrome Classics starts now.

Lets us know some of your favorites down in the comments.

February 18th, we have a Boston Legend coming back to The Phoenix Landing, John Debo! Homegirl Deja will be warming up the night proper! Come dance

Since 1990, Debo has played an instrumental role in pioneering electronic dance music culture in the U.S. His three-pronged role as artist, DJ, and club promoter gives him unique insight into both current and future music trends. He was among the first in America to recognize and embrace the underground electronic dance music movement happening in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe. His weekly club nights at Venus de Milo, Axis, Avalon in Boston carry legend status, and laid a strong foundation for the now flourishing electronic dance music scene in the United States. A known tastemaker, Debo served as a member of the confidential Remixer Craft Committee, a panel of artists and DJs carefully selected by the Recording Academy’s 12 chapters to assist with the Grammy Awards process, ensuring that recordings of note entered into the Grammy process are not overlooked by voting membership. He was also selected for a coveted position as a Billboard‘s Hot 100 Dance Hits chart reporting disc jockey, where his weekly club play chart was used to determine the world-wide weekly Hot 100 dance hits.

SW-425 Multi-DAW Songwriting & Production, 2025FA Wednesday 4-6pm

This course explores songwriting and production using multiple DAWs for one project. The practice of using one or more DAWs for creative endeavors, and another for recording and mixing dates back to the earliest days of computer music production.

Students learn DAW specific file structures & asset management for their creative DAW & Pro Tools, and workflows leveraging the strengths of each.

Through a series of hands-on projects, they explore techniques for incorporating the unique attributes of each DAW into their process, giving writer-producers first-hand experience into how many contemporary recordings are made today.

This is the Pro Tools class ya didn’t know ya needed to take.
