Gorgeous weather for a mini downtown Toronto trip to see friends and tour several historic properties, including Riverdale Farm and the Distillery District buildings.

Pictures 1-2 are of Casa Loma, a 60,000 square foot estate built for $3.5M in 1914. Imagine today's cost of custom furniture, limestone, 300 laborers...

Pic 3: My favorite waterfront condo, Aqualuna, with generous floor plans starting at 2,200 interior SF. Builders were Tridel and Hines, and the achitects were 3XN and Kirkor Architect and Planners.

Pic 4: St. Lawrence Market (always worth perusing around)

Pic 5: Taking 13 years to build 😲, Union Station (train and bus station) sees 250k daily travelers, and is a national historic site. Tapping into my architecture nerd side, it's Beaux-Arts style featuring a massive colonnaded stone entrance and a grand hall with a 26-metre arched ceiling.

Pic 6: The Distillery Historic District features over 40 heritage red-brick and limestone buildings from the former Gooderham & Worts Distillery. It was the British empire's largest distillery and has North America's largest and best-preserved collection of Victorian-era industrial architecture.

Another amazing Canadian countryside and big city vacation

Saw the fall colors burst, saw loved ones, tried a nordic spa, and reset 🍁

Ontario, Quebec's countryside, glassy lakes, cooler air. We enjoyed it all, and even visited 3 Fairmont hotels along the way.

Began in Ontario, visited Old Montreal, returned to Toronto.

In downtown Toronto, I gobbled striped jack and hand rolls at @japango122, shopped at @mujiusa, saw @allan_gardens and Cabbagetown, finally saw hockey fans walking to a game 🏒
Also toured @casalomatoronto downtown
In Quebec out driving, I had delish sorbet @lacremeriecafe
In Quebec, went to @fairmontmontebello (largest log cabin on Earth)
In Old Montreal, we returned to @gibbysrestaurant
