This is the kind of place that reminds you Malta still has corners most people never reach.

Not a normal beach.
Not an easy access spot.
Just raw rock, deep blue water, and that hidden feeling you only get when you go looking for it.

✔️ Best time to visit? Midday, when the light hits the water and the blue looks its clearest.
✔️ What to do? Swim, enjoy the cave views, and take in one of Malta’s wildest hidden spots.
✔️ Bonus tip: Go only when the sea is calm. Wear proper shoes, bring water, and be careful around the rocks.

This is one of those places that feels too good to be real.

A massive rock arch. Open sea. Nothing else around you.

📍Wied il-Mielaħ Window, Gozo

Located on Gozo’s wild north coast, this natural limestone arch is one of the island’s most powerful coastal views. Less crowded than other spots, it feels raw, open, and untouched.

This is not just a viewpoint.
This is where nature feels bigger than you.

✔️ Best time to visit? Sunset for dramatic light or midday for deep blue water.
✔️ How to get there? Drive toward Għarb or San Lawrenz, then walk a short path to the arch. Easy access.
✔️ What to do? Walk around the arch, explore the cliffs, and take in the scale of the landscape.
✔️ Bonus tip: Stay a bit longer. When the light changes, the whole scene feels different.

This is one of those places that stays with you.

📍 Blue Lagoon, Comino

Blue Lagoon gets a lot of attention and a lot of crowds but there’s a reason people still want to see it.

That turquoise water.
The little caves and passages around the coastline.
And once you move away from the busiest section, Comino starts to feel completely different.

The trick is not skipping Blue Lagoon.

It’s knowing when to go and exploring beyond the obvious spot.

Go early, stay later, and don’t stop at the first patch of blue you see.

Be honest… did you actually count them all? 👀🇲🇹

Birgu is one of those places where there’s always something happening above, below, or around you.

Flags between the streets.
Golden limestone.
Church domes.
Fortifications.
And the Grand Harbour waiting at the end.

📍 Birgu (Vittoriosa), Malta

One of the Three Cities, and easily one of my favourite places to just walk without a plan.

But back to the important question…

This was place 10 in my 📍30 Places to Visit in Malta series v2026 and somehow became one of the most viral places I shared this year.

📍 Ta’ Marija Cave

A massive opening in the cliffs.
Crystal-clear water below.
Almost nothing around it.
And from the sea, the whole coastline looks completely unreal.

This is not one of Malta’s famous tourist attractions.
It’s the kind of place you only discover when you keep exploring past the obvious spots.

This might be the best seat in Malta.

Simple bench. Unreal view.

📍 Rdum il-Qammieh

Located on the edge of Malta’s northern cliffs, this spot is known for a bench placed right in front of the open sea. From here, you get one of the widest and most peaceful views on the island.

This is not just a viewpoint.
This is where everything slows down.

✔️ Best time to visit? Sunset for golden light or early morning for quiet views.
✔️ How to get there? Drive toward Rdum il-Qammieh and walk a short distance to the cliff edge.
✔️ What to do? Sit, enjoy the view, and take in the full horizon.
✔️ Bonus tip: Stay safe. There are no barriers and the drop is steep.

This is one of those places you don’t rush.

Located on Malta’s western coast, Dingli Cliffs is one of the island’s most dramatic sunset spots. High above the sea, with open views, golden limestone, and quiet coastal roads, this place shows a slower and more peaceful side of Malta.

This is not just a viewpoint.
This is where Malta feels calm, wild, and endless.

✔️ Best time to visit? Sunset, when the cliffs turn golden and the sea looks endless.
✔️ How to get there? Head towards Dingli Cliffs and follow the coastal road. There are several viewpoints along the way.
✔️ What to do? Walk along the cliffs, enjoy the view, take photos, and stay until the light changes.
✔️ Bonus tip: Bring a light jacket. It can get windy near the edge, especially later in the day.

They are definitely worth it 🇲🇹 ⬇️

Some places in Malta are famous for a reason.

Yes, they can be crowded.
Yes, everyone talks about them.
But if you visit them the right way, they still hit different.

📍 Blue Grotto
Go in the morning if you want the water at its best. The boat trip is worth it when the sea is calm, but even the viewpoint alone gives you one of Malta’s most iconic coastal views.

📍 The Three Cities
Birgu, Senglea, and Cospicua are perfect if you want history, quiet streets, harbour views, and a slower side of Malta away from Valletta’s crowds.

📍 Comino
It is touristy, but the water is unreal. Skip peak hours if you can, explore beyond Blue Lagoon, and you’ll understand why people keep coming back.

This is the thing about Malta:
some places are popular because they are overhyped…
but some are popular because they really are that beautiful.
