I could REALLY get used to this ! I feel so ‘at home’ in the BEAUFORTAIN. Everyone is here for the mountains, whether they live here or are visiting and it’s a really friendly area! by @johnfowlertrailrunning

Just been on one of the best mountain run / hikes ever in the BEAUFORTAIN! 15 miles and nearly 6000 feet of elevation. Stunningly beautiful here! 🏔️😀 by @johnfowlertrailrunning

I finally managed to tear myself away from my friends and their campsite and am now heading to family south of Lyon via the Aubrac. After a slightly annoying detour off the main road due to road works, I found this lovely little campsite in Saint-Chely d’Aubrac and have spent the last couple of hours outside a cafe chatting to a chiropractor from California who is walking the GR65, carrying a folding chiropractic table and is giving free chiro to walkers in the evenings! I love how the freedom of travel enables so many cool adventures & encounters! by @johnfowlertrailrunning

France update! Can’t believe it’s almost 5 weeks since I arrived here. Have been mainly struggling to run in 35 degrees of heat, cycling, looking for an old house to renovate, clearing local running Terra Trails, a bit of work, a bit of helping out on the camp site and lots of relaxation. Heading to the Alps to rediscover my mountain legs within the next week or so! 🏔️😀 by @johnfowlertrailrunning

The first image from Le Shuttle shows that I’m heading to the south of France again, managing about 370 miles in 7.5 hours. Currently stopped in a pretty village south of Limoges, leaving me with less than 3 hours and 135 miles tomorrow morning. Currently catching up with my tea quota. No mishaps except the card machine repeatedly rejecting my credit card at a filling station!

One of the things I love about living such a flexible and creative life is that you walk into Abergavenny for lunch as frustratingly the images for the latest survey still haven’t arrived, but then you have the most amazing vegan lunch and coffee, and then discover that the high street running shop is a major stockist for your favourite running shoes PLUS they have ALL of the latest models (Nnormal Cadi’s) in your size! Not quite so good for the bank balance but heh, you’ve gotta LIVE! 🏔️😀 by @johnfowlertrailrunning

There is so much disinformation on the internet these days it’s hard to determine what is factual and what is b*llshit.

An app I was considering using for overall body strength suggested I was ‘moderately fit’ for my age, which was odd considering a group of lads in their 20’s camped next to me last week did a Cadair Idris mountain loop in 7 hours (and were knackered) and I did it in 2 hours and 4 minutes and then went for a bike ride! 🤨 by @johnfowlertrailrunning
