made this for a 1-minute film club meet-up !
i missed making small things, in little bits of time.
the themes of the meeting were "propaganda" "smell" and "ellipsis/gaps in time". sniff sniff.

John remembers to smile sometimes.
He is based somewhere between Berlin DE, Tallinn EE, and Boston USA.
John has worked as an educator for nearly 15 years, teaching animation to people ages 4 - 99. He finished his MA studies at EKA in 2022, and has been bopping around trying to stay alive doing freelance animation, video & graphics work. He likes peaches and bananas and apples and biblical fruits. John will apologize if he bumps into you, and if he doesn’t, he’s been mind-snatched, and needs to be destroyed immediately. Help a guy out. John can’t shut up about animation, so he jumped into doing this podcast with his buddy Lyza.

Introducing to you In-Between, a podcast about… yeah you guessed it… our favorite thing that happens to/inside our eyes. It’s animation, that’s what it is. In-Between is hosted by Lyza Jarvis and John Quirk, and often feature a guest! Friends, colleagues, professionals, educators, critics of the animation world bring along a themed selection of short films that they love. We wanted to find out what films inform and inspire creators and thinkers. Think of it like a book club, or show and tell, or… something… in between…
We’re happy to say the first five episodes are on their way this august, with varied guests from across the animation world. We’re even happier to say they picked out some very cool films! Our first episode comes out next Moooondayyyy!

Conducted a very chaotic but very lovely animation class through @90milartschool this spring; blind-contour-wiggle-portraits, motion experiments, collaborative short film-making. playful, joyful, and went by too quick!
looking forward to next semester :)
