Walking Through Biblical History — Ephesus, Turkey 🇹🇷

Incredible to walk the ancient streets where the Apostle Paul preached and ministered for nearly three years (Acts 19).

Church tradition tells us that the Apostles John and Timothy also served as pastors here.

Nearly 2,000 years later, these ancient ruins remind us of the powerful impact of the early church.

Ancient city. Timeless message.

🇪🇬 3,300 Years of History at the Grand Egyptian Museum!

From Ramesses II, who ruled Egypt for 66 years and lived during the era often associated with Moses, to King Tut, who became pharaoh at just 9 years old!

Ramesses built massive monuments to be remembered. King Tut ruled only 10 years, yet became the world’s most famous pharaoh!

Two kings. Two incredible stories. One amazing museum! 🇪🇬

They said “Don’t stand out like a crazy American tourist in Egypt 🇪🇬”

Me 👆

Overwhelming and dreamlike to roam the pyramids. An emotionally powerful experience!

When Moses walked by these pyramids, they were already 1000 years old - and he likely visited them as a fascinated tourist.

Cleopatria lived closer to the invention of the iphone 📱 than the pyramids.

The pyramids were NOT built by slaves, as the nearby workers village showed well fed workers who lived long, and some were even allowed to be buried in proximity to this holy site.

There were no UFOs or aliens required to build these. Sand ramps encircled the structure as it was built. taken in Pyramids Giza, Egypt by @johnhackshistory

Walking through ancient Akrotiri on Santorini—an extraordinary Minoan city preserved beneath volcanic ash for thousands of years. Wandering among its streets, homes, and frescoes felt like stepping into a world frozen in time. 🌋🏺

1,600 years… and it’s still standing. ⛪️

Hidden on the Greek island of Naxos is one of the oldest Christian churches in the world. Inside are faded frescoes painted before the Middle Ages—surviving invasions, earthquakes, and the passing of empires.

Walking through these doors feels like stepping back into the earliest centuries of Christianity.

Would you visit a church that’s been standing for over 1,500 years?

👇 Tell me where you’ve seen the oldest church you’ve ever visited.

160 years ago today, 300 men changed American history. 🇺🇸

On July 2, 1863, the 20th Maine held Little Round Top against repeated Confederate attacks. When they ran out of ammunition, Colonel Joshua Chamberlain ordered one of the most famous bayonet charges in military history.

I recently stood where it happened. It’s hard to describe the feeling.

History isn’t just something you read—it’s something you can still walk today.

One of Pennsylvania’s hidden treasures. ⛪️
St. David’s has stood here since the early 1700s, quietly witnessing the American Revolution, generations of worship, and centuries of history. Places like this remind us that faith often leaves its deepest mark through simple faithfulness. 🇺🇸✨

Have you ever visited St. David’s?

The mysterious abandoned church with two separate alters! Originally. Greek Orthodox church, the Venetians arrived on Naxos in the 1200s and built a parallel Catholic space for worship. Both churches operated at the same time side-by-side! A very rare situation. Thank you @naxosislandtours #johnhackshistory taken in Naxos Island, Greece by @johnhackshistory

Entering the harbor of Naxos 🇬🇷 Island, an ancient monumental doorway stands as a silent testimony to “unfinished projects”. For 2500 years this unfinished temple has framed each and every sunset… #johnhackshistory #naxos #greece taken in Naxos Island, Greece by @johnhackshistory

Our group paused our adventure for an iconic shot here in Santorini. We also toured the 3600 year old Minoan ruin. This site is considered the “Pompeii of Greece”, but way older! taken in Santorini, Greece by @johnhackshistory
