I'm excited to announce that the live recording of "Swamp City" – my most recent composition for electroacoustic orchestra – is now available to listen on SoundCloud! (link in bio) 🔊🔊

Video clip from the premiere in January.

Thank you again to all the artists and organizers who helped make this concert possible, especially those at @musicatamherst.

On Saturday, January 31st at 7:00pm, come to Buckley Recital Hall to hear the premiere of Swamp City, a four-movement work for electroacoustic chamber orchestra inspired by the wetlands of Washington, D.C.

Blurring the boundaries between human and nonhuman habitats, the piece fuses orchestration with live electronic processing and field recordings, taken in collaboration with the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. Swamp City paints a lethargic soundworld, while highlighting the communities we must prioritize during murky political moments.

FREE and open to the public. No tickets required. taken in Buckley Recital Hall by @johnjoiremusic

“Swamp Mixer” - capturing DC’s balancing act between natural and urban sound atmospheres. 🔊🔊

Had a blast figuring out the circuitry, effects, and (of course) sounds to bring this vision to life. 10/10 summer project.

Recordings from (over and under) the Red Line, the Billy Goat Trail, the banks of the Potomac, and Peirce Mill. 🌳🚊
