Encountered HEMI today. An old bighorn male out on adventure in 107 degree heat. A peninsular big horn HEMI is one of only 720 of his subspecies in the world. Making he and his family very endangered. They only lve in the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains around the coachella Valley. Met him in the upper cover which is rare. Beautiful creatures. Only one enemy the mountain lion. HEMI has a couple of scars that could be the result of that. He is old and limping and near the end of his journey. by @johnlreese

We are all so very proud of you, @nicolettedylann Watching you walk across that stage at UCSB with honors, an A on your thesis, and a degree in environmental science is one of the proudest moments of my life. You chose one of the toughest programs in the world and the best institution and you didn’t just survive it—you thrived. This weekend on the farm, surrounded by animals and nature, was the perfect way to celebrate everything you’ve accomplished. I love you more than words can say. Congratulations superstar! Oh and P.S. way to score a position in your field and start two days after you finish classes. No time like the present! by @johnlreese
