9 YEARS AGO! Where has the time gone?! This photo of @mosesknightshead and I was taken during an improv performance at the Heaven and Hell showcase that Moses would host every month at Anela’s Wellness Center in Houma. If you were ever a part of the show or creative community during that time, you knew that each show was just as special and unique as the artists who performed there. Do you have any memories you’d like to share from these shows? Let me know in the comments. taken in Downtown Houma by @johnny_anomaly

🎤 I’m looking to book more speaking engagements for 2026-2027 so if you are someone who wants to bring the art of spoken word to your classroom, church, or club, I want to hear from you! 🫵🏼 by @johnny_anomaly

Back in 2017, I was part of this small group that met every week and was aptly named Testimony Tuesday’s given it was hosted on, you guessed it, Tuesday’s. This particular night it was my turn and what better way to share my testimony than through spoken word poetry? I recited “Painkiller”, one of the first long-form poems I ever wrote and memorized. I’m still proud of this poem and what it’s done in the lives of those who have resonated with it. Have you heard the poem before this post? #spokenword

A live album of 10 tracks featuring 14 poems spanning over 10 years of work recorded in Baton Rouge featuring YOU.

Let’s make it happen!

We plan to record at BR Music Studios in Baton Rouge on a date yet to be announced and we hope you show up to be a part of this project. Financially, I am looking to raise $1,500 to cover the cost of recording, mixing, mastering, digital distribution, as well as 100 packaged CD’s.

Whether your support covers $5 or $500, any amount is welcomed and appreciated. Your name will be added in the liner notes of the album and you will receive a social media video shoutout.

This new album will feature some old favorites that I haven’t performed in years as well as ones I’ve never performed live including “Convalescence”.

This goes beyond me. My intention is to collaborate with you and capture the moment that we’ll share together through this recording.

Even if you do not donate, please consider sharing this message. Thank you!

Over the weekend I decided (while on the mic) to debut “Weak No Longer”, originally featured on @hopethroughgraceband’s song by the same name. Going into this performance, I had no plan to even get behind a microphone, but when prompted, I obliged, relying on muscle memory to get through it. Maybe you’re not technically “ready” to showcase your work to an audience, but here’s the secret…there’s never more of a “right” moment to share than the opportunity you have in front of you. Here’s another little piece of advice for the stuck creative, NO ONE else knows what they’re doing, so when you get out there, you may as well take the pressure off of yourself and have some fun.
