Day 23 of 27 to Pokémon Day

“Early Walks Of Life: Part 1”

Happy week of Pokémon Day! I wanted the Monday of this week to be special. So I worked on a couple Prehistoric Pokémon World themed artwork.
The first of which is a family of Kabuto and Kabutops, along with some other Pokémon.

In this painting, the Kabuto family are home from a long day of swimming and hunting in the ocean. I wanted to depict them in a docile manner, much like the calm and serene look a lion has when it’s not out on the plains hunting. The water is rich and abundant with seaweeds, a staple food for some Pokémon, and perhaps a source of carbon or fiber for the Kabutops family.

Resting on the rocks are Lileep, that are just as carnivorous. Although they are normally seafloor dwelling Pokémon, these two are out to catch some sun, and perhaps other things necessary for their diet, as well. If you noticed, the other parent Kabutops is shielding its young from the Lileep.

We also have an Archen staring at the horizon, nibbling on a fish, but also observing the Kabuto family.

Off in the horizon, we also have what is currently believed to be the original and true form of Aerodactyl, alongside the imperfect resurrected form of Aerodactyl. With that inference, you can tell that these events are taking place in a mysterious land either protected or mostly untouched by modern life.

I’m also preparing videos explaining each artwork to eventually post on my Johnny Seawalker Youtube Channel. I’m hoping to make my Youtube channel my art portfolio and diary. Stay tuned for that!
Cheers and Happy Week of Pokémon Day!

Please don’t forget to check out @pokemon ‘s upcoming Pokémon Fossil Museum Exhibit at the @fieldmuseum in Chicago!

I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I did making it!

Good morning Trainers!

“Early Walks Of Life: Part 2”

I present to you the 2nd entry of the Prehistoric Pokémon World series of paintings that I have been working on. This, much like the others, took a while, but I also wanted to make it simple.

I have always wondered what early life would have been like in the Pokémon world. I’m lucky that so much of the Pokédex entries are easily available online. That’s part of why I used Mega Aerodactyl instead of its original resurrected form from the early Kanto chapters.

And as much as I would like to narrate every element I added to this piece, I would rather leave the rest to the magic of your imagination.

All I can say is that this piece is heavily inspired by Safari experiences, documentaries, dinosaur encyclopedias, children’s storybooks (i.e. Childcraft Encyclopedia’s fairytales, and folklore artworks), and The Lost World, Jurassic Park (which was my favorite among all the JP movies).

I’m definitely posting my Pokémon Day video tonight, but until then, I’ll do my best impression of a Snorlax. My move set consists of Yawn, Rest, Snore, and Sleep Talk. 😆

Belated Pokémon Day and Happy 30th Anniversary @pokemon @pokemon_jpn and my fellow fans!

Day 2 of 27 to Pokémon Day

I present to you the sensational cast of the Ecruteak Dance Theater!

Her majesty’s small, but she sure stands tall!
Queen Eevee of Galar!

With the brilliance of the sun, she unites kingdoms as one,
Solar Empress-Espeon!

When the sun falls and the moon ascends, to him all knees shall surely bend.
Lunar Pharaoh-Umbreon!

Whosoever asks her pure heart’s worth,
will find that she is Heaven on Earth
Johto Shrine Maiden-Sylveon!

Elusive ruler of the snowy summit.
Those that pursue her shall surely plummet.
Glaceon-Ancient Ruler of Lanakila!

Living his life with a warrior’s code,
each path he takes is a fiery road.
Brave Samurai-Flareon,

Simply bold with a heart of gold,
Sir Jolteon-Knight of Galar!

To those that lose their way in the woods,
Ask for his guidance and you’ll be good.
Elven Ruler Leafeon!

In the waterways of Kalos, you’ll find this clown
who will make you smile when you feel down.
Vaporeon-the Pierrot of Kalos!

The very first time I came up with these designs was when I made that one painting of Umbreon. I was thinking, “Hmmm… If Umbreon was heavily inspired by Anubis, I might as well add some metal accessories and glow in the dark paint tattoos.
And then I moved on to Espeon and thought, “What if Espeon was seen as an Empress of the Sun?”
Vaporeon was definitely my favorite of the others, as its design did remind me of a French Pierrot.

I have always been fascinated by the Legends of Ecruteak, which makes this piece so special to me.
Do you know the relevance of the Ecruteak Dance theater and its Eeveelution performers?
Legends say that during the fire at the Old Tin Tower (now fondly known as the Burned Tower), three guardian dogs perished and were resurrected by Ho-Oh. Upon their rebirth, these three guardian dogs Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon took new forms, now known as the Legendary Dogs, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. What an awesome legend to reflect on!

Upon painting these, I came up with a bunch of head canon that I attached to these designs. I really hope I get to draw a storybook or manga for Pokémon someday. That would be so fun! 🥹✨
Can we, @pokemon ?

“Pokémon XP 2026”

I made a personal promise to my Grandpa, my loved ones, friends, people who appreciate my art, my inspirations, my fellow artists, fellow fans and Pokémon that I will strive hard to use my talent to the fullest and spread whatever warmth and wonder I’m able to muster through my passion for art, and Pokémon.
Although there were no ways to get these original artworks to the Pokémon company at the time, I would like to extend my gratitude to them for bringing that wonder over through the Pokémon XP and the Pokémon World Championships 2026.

These original artworks, as mentioned in my previous post were made to celebrate Pokémon XP and the World Championships in the Bay Area, I made special connecting paintings that express the merging of the Pokémon World and the Bay Area. I made a limited number of prints to hand out to my fellow fans who expressed their love and passion for Pokémon. I wasn’t out for likes or follows, and never promoted my social media. All I told them was that I love Pokémon and aspire to join them someday. There were indeed people who expressed their love for my art and asked if I had a social media, and that was the only time I told them.
To me, this event was all about the magic, wonder, and warmth of Pokémon. It was about us fans getting to meet our favorite artists, creators, and the rest of the Pokémon community. It was all about bonding and somewhat reliving the joy we had when we first saw our favorite Dinosaurs or animals in the museum. It was all about friendly competition and aspiring to become excellent altogether. Thank you so much @pokemon , @pokemon_jpn , all the organizers, the fans, and the Moscone Center for making this a golden memory to draw inspiration and passion from.

Now! Onto the artwork!
This image shows a nest of Charmanders bonding with their parent. And it seems like some Torchics came by to play as well. The radiant glow from the ambient yellow and orange flames at the tip of these Charmanders’ and their parent Charizard’s tail create a wonderful sphere of light that persists through the night, like a beacon of love beckoning those who seek the warmth of a family.

“Pokémon XP 2026”
To celebrate Pokémon XP and the World Championships in the Bay Area, I made special connecting paintings that express the merging of the Pokémon World and the Bay Area.
I had a limited number of prints that I handed out as gifts to fellow fans, and made sure to leave my artist signature, written in pencil, on the back. This was my way of celebrating Pokémon’s 30th anniversary with my fellow fans.
I was hoping there was a fan letter box, but I understand the event was a giant love letter to us fans focused on bringing us the best show possible. I tried my best to keep up with all of the activities, but I left my powerbank and spent some time taking naps in between as I had no rest the prior days.
Regardless, I love everything that Pokémon put together.
Thank you so much @pokemon and @pokemon_jpn!
There was much to reminisce! It was since 1998 during my summer vacation that my love for Pokémon grew. My Grandparents and I would go all around Kobe and Osaka, searching for Pokémon goods, figures, memorabilia, stickers, trading cards, and my tavorite of them all...
Gashapon!
I was in love with Pokémon, and my late Grandpa helped cultivate that enjoyment I had. He even encouraged me to learn more about Pokémon, among many other pop icons such as Godzilla. I miss my Grandpa! And so, l attended Pokémon XP with my Grandpa in my heart, the whole entire time. Getting to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary and reminisce my time with Grandpa and the time Pokémon helped me endure my chemo therapy for one day means so much to me
And now, onto the artwork!

“The Ferry Pokémon And Its Friends”
Connecting Art: Bottom Center
This alludes to some of my memories playing Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Yellow in the games. After obtaining Lapras in Pokémon Yellow, I was so excited to have it in my team! We sailed from Fuschia City to the Whirl Islands, through the winding caverns, where I would commonly encounter Seel and Dugong!

I hope I get to work with Pokémon someday, and share stories and adventures like these with fans, their families, and friends. Happy 30 years of wonder, dear Pokémon and my fellow fans!

“The Nido family!”
This first painting is situated at the bottom right corner of the entire artwork. It focuses on a family of Nidoking, feeding and enjoying a relaxing time at the coast with some other Pokémon. Can you spot a starter pokémon in the picture?

Other than this being Pokémon XP 2026 themed, I’m really focused on creating fantasy artbooks that families can enjoy together. I wanted to create a wholesome experience that even adults could enjoy, especially those who love art.
I’m hoping I get the chance to do so with Pokémon, someday.

Congratulations to the Pokémon Company, Creatures & Gamefreak, Nintendo, the Moscone Center and the entire Pokémon community on a wonderful and fun filled Pokémon XP Convention and Pokémon World Championships 2026!
I managed to make a lot of prints and handed them all out to my fellow fans at the event. I was on a budget so I might have made about 80 pieces all together. 😅
I also signed all of them on the back with a pencil, and a few with metallic sparkle pens.

The idea was to have Pokémon pouring out of a portal at the Golden Gate bridge. It was originally going to be a horizontal painting on a long canvas-board with a plethora of Pokémon running along the bridge, but the printer would only allow me to print small portions.
I also made sure to include Pokémon that each artist has done, but this time I evolved Tika’s パモ into a パーモット. 🥹✨
I’m preparing a video of my full single day pass experience at the convention, and just how special that day was for me, since it was also my birthday. 😅
Please stay tuned for that, and the other special artworks I made especially for Pokémon XP, and the Pokémon World Championships 2026~!
Cheers!
I love you @pokemon @pokemon_jpn @nintendoamerica

Dearest Pokémon Company,
Thank you so much for coming to San Francisco.
This week, I would like to post artworks I made especially for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary and celebrate the very first convention, Pokémon XP.
The first of which is this circular canvas piece that I made for Tsunekazu Ishihara Sensei.
It was my welcome and thank you gift to him and the @pokemon Company.
It so happened that it was also my birthday that weekend, and so I wanted it to be special by giving it my all. I was able to hand out a lot of my prints and original artwork to fellow Pokémon fans. I also was able to interact with Naoki Saito Sensei, one of my favorite artists, as he was on stage speaking to us fans in his interview. Thanks to him, I learned to be more sincere with my art, spending more time and focus on the magic of visual storytelling that my fellow Pokémon fans, and audiences who happen to come across the art I make can appreciate and draw inspiration from.

I was able to speak to your wonderful on site staff, especially Rachel at information who did her best to find a way to show you the painting, and her coordinating with a staff from The Pokémon Company International.
I’m still hoping that somehow, you get to see this painting.

Having experienced the magic, the wonder, and the heroic message of friendship and harmony of Pokémon since 1998, I dedicated my focus on expressing as much Pokémon art as best as I possibly could, and would like to be able to lend my strength, someday.
And so, humbly and sincerely, I wanted say,
ポケモンから習った友情と愛と卓越性のメッセージで世界の平和と嬉しさを守りたくて祝いたいと思っております。
私は必ずポケモンの力になりたいと考えております。私の力と技術を尽くし、貢献したいと考えております。
If it would be of help, please allow my skill to be of use to you. It would be my honor to stand by you in your best efforts to making this world a happier place.
Pokémon was my first introduction to the healing power of friendship, partnership, a passion of excellence, the dedication to spreading wonder, adventure, and the commitment to exploration in its deepest most contributing form I am able to.

All my wishes aside, congratulations to Pokémon on a successful Pokémon Worlds & XP convention!
Happy 30th Anniversary!

Hand drawn storybooks. That's what I always wanted to make. I remember flipping through pages and pages of storybooks in my childhood. Whether they were the old Tom Sawyer books, Dinosaur picture books or even certain volumes of old Childcraft books with miscellaneous tales... I loved them all and have grown so fond of them. For a while, I was distracted and misled by teenage drama. And then I had Leukemia.

One way to live past the windows of my hospital bed was through reading graphic novels, animé, and mangas. Mangas that inspired me to pick up my pencils and draw. They were worlds of magical imagery in the palm of my hands. Once which I promised myself to make someday in my hospital bed as I was struggling to keep up with my chemo therapy.
Surviving that, I realized that there was something important I have to do with whatever time I have left in this world. And that art was my way to make the magic and miracles happen.
So I'm grateful to all those who inspired me, and made it a vow to make their efforts for me count, whether they were strangers or people I knew. They continue to inspire me, as silly and childish as that sounds.
To all the artists that inspired me...especially mr. @mitsuhiro_arita . Thank you. I will put everything I learned into good use.
My mission in life is to uphold and value the soul. None of us were born perfect, but I believe that if we can learn to adore and treasure each other, we can lift all those ahead of us, and honor the ones before us.
Doing so, I would have helped make this world a better place, all while gearing those whose hearts my art may touch. So cheers to a kinder and sweeter world where all you have to worry about are your dreams, and the precious moments you can make.
--------
If you look carefully, I did my best to create a flow of imagery. You could either follow the flow of the river through image, or follow the stare of each Pokémon living in the painting.
And thank you so much @pokemon , @pokemon_jpn for being part of my life.
Have a blessed day, everyone. You and I are the light of the world.
Warmth and love to us all, always.

I think this would be the art style I would go with if I had the chance to make a Batman comic. And as much as I am a fan of the Justice League Batman, there is something about the raw 'Count of Montecristo' take on Batman that I like the most, where he's really that guardian shadow in the dark that looms over Gotham and is suddenly this Berserker Knight ready for battle. I also liked the electro conductor/generator tech that merged with highly sophisticated memory cloth that turns his cape into a glider, in the Nolan movies (I hope I remembered it right).
If I am able to make a Batman comic someday, I'm going to rely mostly on paint and go wild with the hues, while maintaining the Gothic look of the characters and the scenes, but most of all, the way each character is presented to the viewer. I want them to have the feel of the old fantasy art I used to find in those old Tom Sawyer, Sherlock Holmes, and Gulliver's Island storybooks, merged with the modern influences that have helped me find my own style of art. I want the readers to feel the colors, the light, and the void, perhaps even merging comic panel lines with the art.
Until then, here's a look at The Batman by Johnny Seawalker.
My version of the Batman comes with Wayne Tech Bat Familiars that can self regenerate and are bioengineered superbats which can endure damage and penetrate steel. They are also linked with Batman's mind, able to read his thoughts and self discern their own strategy of attack. In other words, they are free and independent creatures smarter than the typical Game of Thrones dragons we are used to.
He also has multiple breeds of superbats, each with their own special abilities and strengths.
There's also a superbat that is almost kaiju in size, and is probably the size of the old fighter jets.

Good night and sweet dreams!
