I built a retro drifting game using GPT6 Astra. I wanted to build something that I would have wanted as a kid on something like a Nintendo or the original PlayStation. Now I'm going to port this over to the PS1 which I still own. I won't ever release this game because of the licensing for the cars and probably the copyrighted music I'm going to put in it. But I never intend to release a game for anyone else. I'm only making this for me. Which is kind of the point of all this. Wild times we live in. by @johnnythegeek

Over the weekend I went to check out @datalandmuseum AI generated art and met the artist @refikanadol. Takes massive compute to generate all those visuals in real time and based on sensory data from each person in the room and data coming from a rainforest. So basically, the visuals are all different for each group. by @johnnythegeek

Not my usual intro because this was a video meant for LinkedIn and for an org I am prototyping this for.

Prototyping a stand alone language learning app. With the exception to the live tutor, this app and the ASR model is fully running locally. None of your data leaves the computer or app.

The ASR model is the new NVIDIA Nemotron ASR 3.5 for speech recongnition.

The AI model it runs under the hood: wav2vec2-XLSR-53 (a multilingual phoneme recognizer), converted to the CTranslate2 runtime so it runs fast on CPU inside the app. by @johnnythegeek

johnnyrobot has its own network now. 200mbps for $80 a month. Once I get a pole and a better angle, I might upgrade to the 400mbps plan for $120 a month. The homelab projects and business is coming along nicely. by @johnnythegeek

Ran simulations for market research and technical analysis in higher ed domains. Hundreds of agents and personas simulated for feedback and critique on a product I am developing. If I can predict all the questions and comments, I can build a better product. Never thought I'd be here doing this. by @johnnythegeek

GTP 5.5 is pretty damn good. Took a few tries for this audio book reading app but total wall time was about 2 hours for this app. I also have Claude Opus 4.7 building a version so lets see how it does next. Coming soon to a github repo near you. by @johnnythegeek

So far in the past 4 months, I've burned through 10 Billion tokens worth about $20,000. Well on my way to spending half my salary in inference. That's the trend. I'll be posting soon what I've made so far. By the way this is only with Claude code. I've spent maybe another 2.5 Billion tokens on Codex. by @johnnythegeek

Voice Agents for AI study assistants in LibreTexts textbooks. A product that is first to market with AI in education. It still blows my mind that this took a few days to build. Granted, I have spent months learning and building a workflow using AI platforms. The next demo I am working on is an AI assistant that can walk me through filling out my FAFSA. by @johnnythegeek

Note to self, don't use Claude Code while on a VPN in another country and at the same time remote into your machines back home to use Claude Code while also using it on servers in the cloud. I am making an appeal but for now I have to switch over to Codex Max plan and Opencode. I'm also going to stop using a VPN so that means no more answering work emails or accessing OneDrive. I hope I can get my account back. Claude Code is the best. On the plus side, they refunded me my $200 Max plan. by @johnnythegeek

Last year the online teaching conference I gave a sneak peak at what AI can do in Canvas LMS. This time I am applying to present again and showing everyone how to do this. All for free if you have the Free ChatGPT Teachers account. I will also open source this tech at the end of the presentation. Assuming I am selected to present. by @johnnythegeek

Its a shame that Anthropic decided to vendor lock their subscription plans to only work on Claude Code. For now, Google and OpenAi is letting their subscription plans work anywhere. Going to give Oh My Opencode a try with my edu OpenAI and Google Gemini plans. Also added my Z.ai GLM 4.7 coding plan to it. It's amazing that with little to no money, you could build a full stack app in a weekend. It also runs on almost any type of computer. You don't need a fast machine at all. by @johnnythegeek

Claude Code wrapped. There's no Gemini wrapped but my bill for Gemini alone was $1600 year to date. Almost 6 billion tokens in Claude alone. And here I thought I was only in the tens of millions in tokens processed. This isn't even counting self hosted and the Chinese models. Great time to be alive. I've learned so much. by @johnnythegeek
