Dystopia Tonight dares to ask the question: Is this too much? Are we hurtling through a dystopian nightmare, trapped in an endless, self-perpetuating whirlpool of clickbaity headlines, viral memes, and doomscroll-fueled chaos? A carnival of absurdity where every click feels like another nail in society’s coffin? Or is this the moment before we wake up, pull the plug, and rewrite the story - hoping someone remembered to hit record? Either way, welcome to Dystopia Tonight.

Now with 200+ episodes available to Dystopia Tonight’s worldwide audience, we now feature live performances, fundraising events and more. John has developed a reputation to generate funny and deeply engaging interviews with brilliant minds on various topics ranging from the physics of climate change with Lawrence Krauss, to the consistency of edibles with Tommy Chong. by @johnpoveromo

A gigantic THANK YOU to everyone who made Dystopia Tonight’s 3rd Annual 24 Hour Live Stream Benefit to End MS a huge success this year getting us over our 10k goal!!!

And a huge shoutout to the over 9k viewers we had world wide, chatting it up with Greg (@rivalscho0ls ) and I over on Twitch, YouTube and FB, who donated and asked our guests engaging questions throughout the entirety of the stream.

There were so many amazing guests and moments from every hour that made it truly special and I can’t wait to share some of them with you over the next few weeks. Cheers, and see you all next year! by @johnpoveromo

Five years ago I started a 24 hour livestream benefit to raise money and awareness for the @mssociety. On October 1st, I was incredibly grateful to be included on the Honorary Host Committee for the Campaign to End MS Gala at Cipriani‘s.

Met some incredible new friends (looking at you @katermilliken @nicolepedra @yvetteevega @demischweers )and got to witness a night filled with uncompromising generosity and community that raised over $12 million for the National MS Society.

I also got to catch up with Kryz and the other members of Third Eye Blind, who I had on the podcast very early on, before watching them absolutely blow the roof off the place.

Incredibly grateful to be part of a community that keeps showing up, and very ready for year six of the 24 hour stream to end MS with some new friends ready to join the fight!

John Poveromo is Sherlock Holmes in OH SH*T, SHERLOCK! on October 2nd at 7pm & 9pm. 🕵️

“John Poveromo is a nationally touring comedian, cartoonist, writer, actor, and host of the popular podcast Dystopia Tonight™. Through 200+ episodes he has interviewed everyone from musicians like The E Street Band’s Stevie Van Zandt, to Astronaut Chris Hadfield, to legendary entertainers — like Shelley Fabares, Lewis Black, and the late Ed Asner. John has made a name for himself as a highly entertaining and engaging host who authentically draws the most compelling stories out of his guests.”

🔎A classic Sherlock Holmes story...but the actor playing Sherlock has never seen the script or attended a rehearsal. Hilarity ensues as the rest of the cast tries to keep the mystery on track. Featuring a new Sherlock every night solving two completely different mysteries!

Incredibly sad to hear of Shelley’s passing. I got to know her over the years through @dystopiatonight, my annual MS benefit, and the conversations with her and Mike that continued long after the cameras were off.

I was lucky enough to call her a friend.

I wrote about the Shelley I got to know in Have Courage: Remembering Shelley Fabares, now up at @thepopbreak

It’s a genocide. I signed this letter when it first circulated, during the Biden administration. The fact that we’re still calling for our leaders to act is fucking mind blowing. I believed in its call for peace and humanity then, and I’m proud to have my name on it today.

Swipe through for the messaging and full list of signatories. by @johnpoveromo

I’m fairly certain my promotional photos over the years have just become a photographic record of leather jackets I used to own.
