Reynisfjara is a black sand beach in Iceland covered with black volcanic ash and dark rocks. Swimming is prohibited here because of the powerful waves that can literally grab you and take you out to the ocean. Just off their shoreline, there are some huge sea stacks (like a stone tower) that were featured in an episode of The Game of Thrones. by @johnreygoingplaces

I truly didn’t have any expectations of seeing the Northern Lights (even though I brought a suit 😂) since they’d usually show up starting September or when the bright summer nights are over in Iceland.
