Les Mis was just… a different level. I bled, I sweated, I tripped, I ripped my trousers, however, I wasn’t sure at the start… was it for me? Did I like the show enough? Was I out my depth?

So I put the trust in the Golden Trio - Tri, Lynne and Kieran and boy did that pay off! I didn’t know much about Enjolras to begin with, but the more I learned about him, the more I felt like him! Standing on that table, waving that flag, being shot to death… it was just different sauce. The best place to live is outside your comfort zone and thats where I was for a while.

The level of talent that was on display up there last week was enough to sell out any show, any day of the week! Alan you are a freak of nature, Ashton a powerhouse, Jeni exceptional, Alice beautiful, Kris magnificent, Katy perfect, Nathan Stunning and Melody angelic.

There was not a single passenger in this whole cast, everyone to a person had their own character story built and it was beautiful to see! There were so many intimate parts to this massive machine that you probably missed half of them if you only had the privilege of seeing it once! I applaud you all! *clap clap clap clap clap*

When sitting in the stalls or anywhere for that matter, it’s tough to see the level of professionalism and hard work that does behind the scenes. Kieran’s orchestra have about 10.5 seconds to go over the music that you heard and my god you heard them! Stuart, Tess and their team never ever let us down. It’s actually a joy to watch. Kieran and Dylan on sound and lighting and masters at their craft. Challum for the tremendous set design. The costumes and wardrobe team were a breeze to work with and as usual, as always ma wee Goldens that are Gemma Jamie and Ash doing their best to make these auld craws look amazing! Yer all unreal!

This wouldn’t even have happened if ma wee committee king and queen never flew to London and said “Yeah we will take on the biggest challenge of our theatre lives.” Lisa, Graeme, commendations to you both and to everyone on committee who put so much time and effort into this project.

Wish I could mention and tag everyone!

Where do I start? What a week! It will live with me forever. Every single one of you should be proud from your head to your little curly elf shoes! I am full to the brim! Beaming with pride! Especially that sound you all made, THAT SOUND! GAWD!!! I’ve read it all over FB and Insta: “An amateur company delivering a professional performance” You all get 10/10 and I hope to see each and every one of you again! I mean it.

Don’t be sad it’s over! Be glad it happened!

Sunday is normally a rehearsal day for me. However I wasn’t called...so...I decided to hit ‘Bring Him Home’ from Les Miserables. I had the absolute privilege to perform in the 40th anniversary celebrations as Enjolras, however this song is a true show stopper and as this was a song by Jean Val Jean I didn’t get anywhere near it on stage...well I watched it from the Barricade . :P

Hope you enjoy my cover. :D
