This song is the perfect example of what R and B should be and once was , I know it’s on the fence of R and B and other genres

I liked R and B when I was younger was more heartfelt and poetic , it’s probably my own unpopular opinion that that genre has been perverted and distorted to what it once used to be in the early 2000s late 90s and earlier. Don’t get me wrong those songs may still have good instrumentals but I feel like people use those good instrumentals as an excuse to put lyrics of shallow lust, and objectifying women in the lyrics. Not cool , Awsten Knight does a great job showing R&B artist what they could be with this one , passionately , loyaly and with good intention.. a lot of modern artists need to get out their clipboards and take notes to do better,

If you feel like what I said in this post was incorrect. Please I’m open to hearing new music that may not have reached my algorithm if you know any recent R&B releases that fit the preferences I stated above in the post please do drop, id love to hear them and have my mind changed from a lot of recent songs I’ve heard in that scene #rnb #waterparksband by @johnryedcrow

I just know 19 year old me would be impressed that 29 year old me is able to bake when a measuring cup isn’t available by taking an 8 oz glass and drawing imaginary lines on it to get the best guess for the amounts by @johnryedcrow

I’ve always been afraid to post my poetry , I just always felt like either people were going to judge it too harsh or steal it and claim it as their own but I guess by posting this it will give it a time stamp of the original post date if any one did try to do that . Even in school English was my favorite subject the teacher would give us an assignment and I would write it … then not turn that in in fear of what the teacher would think or worse think it’s too good and tell me to share it with the class . Having anxiety in school that would have killed me. So I’d just save things I wrote and then do the assignment again but just write something I think a normal person would write . This was something I originally started writing in 2016 , but never got past the first verse and chorus, overtime , working . I just added too it and was finished about 2022 . This is one of those songs I’ve been singing in my head in the shower after a shift and if it ever released everyone would think it’s a new song but actually it would have been something that was in my head for over a decade before feeling good enough to record it , it probably would never get too much radio play because it would wake too many people up or something but heregoesnothing.. by @johnryedcrow
