Funny story: We spent the entire shoot obsessing over every frame to really shoot it for real and make it look as real as possible, in tricky situations. The result? We won the Grand Prix for Craft, Special Effects, at the Seoul Creative Festival (and Bronze for Cinematography). Well, to be fair, all the northern lights were CGI, by the great team at Solid VFX.

Incredibly proud of everyone involved. We set out to make something beautiful, and we came home with some heavy metal. And—somehow—they named me Director of the Year. I’m choosing to believe this means I’ve finally mastered the art of looking like I know what I’m doing. taken in Trømso, Norway by @johnsjpark

Earlier this year, I had a shoot in northern Norway, tackling what seemed like the trickiest job— filming a near black car where the sun barely peeks over the horizon before calling it a day.
