⚠️Johnson Valley Shared Use Area Will Be CLOSED⚠️

August 13-27, 2026

Sure is a beautiful day! Spring time in the desert is incredible.

What seems to be dead and lifeless suddenly shows a different story. Bright colors and wildflowers take over. While it doesn’t last long, I look forward to seeing it every year.

Enthusiasts have been Off-Roading in
Johnson Valley for 6 or 7 decades.

You can see from my video that land is pristine.

Off-Roaders use the legal trail systems and the
OHV Park on the north side of the hwy which is also open for camping.

Just in case anyone missed it the first time. READ IT, REREAD IT, AND READ IT AGAIN!

KEEP OUR DESERT CLEAN!
CALL PEOPLE OUT!
These words mean nothing if they’re not enforced. by @johnsonvalleydesert

THIS IS A RACE EVENT!
THAT IS WHY YOU ARE HERE!

There are LIVE races happening right here at KOH in Johnson Valley.
WAKE UP EARLY and GO WATCH THEM!

If you only come to KOH for the late night partying on the trails, you are here for the WRONG reasons and YOU will be the reason why this gets shutdown.
You are NOT part of the offroad community and you are NOT a true offroad enthusiast!

Chocolate Thunder, Backdoor, Turkey Claw are all most-known rock crawling trails that are some of the closest to the dry lakebed and are easier rock crawling trails that are easily accessible for the common spectator to drive up to. This allows anyone to reach them and makes these trails crowded with people who are there to “party” and cause chaos.

SPEAK UP!
PICK UP TRASH AND HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANY ACTS OF STUPIDITY!
HELP OUT OR GET CALLED OUT!
