Today's #Slingin submission comes from drummer John Sparrow (@johnsparrow76) of the Violent Femmes. 1955 Radio King in Red Sparkle... 22", 16", 13" and original calf heads, handed down to him by his father. 🥁 Swipe to slide 2 for John's second Slingerland drum kit, acquired at age 15 in the '90s, in a color inspired by the first.

John says, "In 1954 my dad had the choice for his 16th birthday, a used car or a drum set. He chose the drum set and ordered it in BDP. He got red sparkle. My dad’s first drum set would become my first drumset. The Slingerland sound as we have it today matches that true Radio King sound. Dad’s drums are stored safely nowadays."

Thank you for sharing, John! Keep sending us your kits for a chance to be featured! by @johnsparrow76
