Barry Kamen passed away unexpectedly, while painting in his studio at just 52, and left behind a major body of work that hardly anyone got to see. He had no big shows and no gallery representation.

This new exhibition marks 10 years since his passing. I spoke with some of Barry’s closest friends and collaborators to tell his story. Thanks @ibkamara @jamie_morgan_photographer @marklebon7 and also @jadewickes for the commission and edits.

Feargal Sharkey, fly-fishing, Footnote Magazine – privilege to spend the day just outside of London with the former punk singer, now clean water campaigner, who has done more than anyone to galvanise the UK public over the unbelievable scale of the sewage scandal. He talked about the bloodshed and violence of growing up during the Troubles in Northern Ireland and what is was like being the frontman of The Undertones, his distinctive voice – a high, trembling tenor – helping “Teenage Kicks” become a punk anthem around the world.
