The Airport - Part 3 of 3

My flight home from Italy was delayed by 7 hours. It was late, and the airport was practically empty. So I sat myself down at a piano that I found and played into the night.

This song “Saudade” Is this song that I wrote about 5 years ago. It’s a song that means a great deal to me, and I hadn’t played it for a long time. I’d neglected songwriting and piano playing for a while, so I guess the delayed flight and an empty airport to play in was a blessing in disguise. It reminded me of how much I enjoy playing the piano and it inspired me to share these moments with others, instead of just keeping it to myself.

The City & The Organ

A day trip into the medieval city of Orvieto which sits on top of a volcanic tufa cliff, and has a 14th century cathedral called The Duomo, where an organ performance played as I stepped in which was an absolute treat.

The Villa - Part 1 of 3

In July last year, I went on holiday to Italy with my partner and family. We stayed in a beautiful villa in an Umbrian hilltop village called Parrano. Before I left, I found an old camcorder at home, which happened to be the very first video camera I owned when I was 16! I hadn’t used it for over 15 years, and I thought, “What better place to use it again than on my trip to Italy?” So, I cleaned it up, got some fresh batteries, and brought it along with me to capture moments in time during our stay in Italy.
