Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I went to Europe to visit wine regions in France, Spain and Portugal (and relax at the coast). Started out in San Sebastián in Northern Spain (what a charming city!) and had a quick stop in Biarritz in France on the way to Bordeaux. 🇪🇸🇫🇷🇵🇹🌊🏖️

00 Wines produced a small but mighty lineup of 2022s, including a new single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Stardance Vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton. 2022 was also the first year the Hermanns, with the help of new Assistant Winemaker Lawrence Herlyn Hass and Winemaker Maxence Lecat (who made previous vintages of 00 and currently crafts the couple’s wines in France), fully directed the winemaking in Oregon. 🍇🍷

Earlier this year, I sat down with winemakers Marcus Goodfellow and Megan Joy to taste through library vintages of Goodfellow Family Cellars dating back to 2005.
Goodfellow has become one of my favorite producers in the Willamette Valley for their elegantly styled, transparent Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs sourced from some of the region’s oldest vineyards. 🍷🍇
