On day one at EF, Yannis and Anna realised they were both obsessed with the exact same paper on AGI.

That was enough to start talking, and they’ve been building together ever since.

Now they’re building Isochronic around one of the hardest questions in AI: as machines become more autonomous, how do we know when to trust them?

Tomorrow, they’ll be on stage at Demo Day in SF. by @join_ef

Their satellite was ready to fly, but one thing stopped it: paperwork.

That frustration became Invariant.

Pranav and Parthiv are building autonomous agents to make sure the next generation of data centers, reactors and other critical infrastructure isn’t held back by regulatory approvals.

Since landing in San Francisco, they’ve spoken to hundreds of people across the industry, 20x’d their revenue, and Pranav became chair of an American Nuclear Society working group within two months.

He said no to MIT.

Instead, he joined The Bridge.

Four weeks later, Mehdi met his cofounder. 15 weeks on, Seeft has a product, its first customers, and major enterprise conversations underway.

From Morocco’s retail and manufacturing world to building AI for legacy industries.

Next week, Seeft pitches at Demo Day in San Francisco. by @join_ef

As a kid, he tried to build Spider-Man web shooters.

Now, he’s building aerial robots designed to give humans superpowers.

EF found him building drones out of his university garage. Within weeks, he was in San Francisco.

Now he’s building Narion Technologies.

Next week, he’ll be pitching at Demo Day. by @join_ef

Yeok landed in San Francisco and, two days later, flew to Taiwan to get Caldera’s motors built.

He slept in bunk beds with factory workers, took cold showers, and stayed focused on getting the job done.

He and Raghav met through EF. Now they’re building Caldera with one goal: to build the best robotic manufacturing company in the world.

One of healthcare’s biggest mistakes: treating women like smaller men.

GiniHealth is building a different approach — designed around female biology from the ground up.

Starting with an at-home blood test tailored to women.

Kenza Rahali and Richard Robinet-Duffo met through EF. Now they’re validating their first protocol and heading to Demo Day in San Francisco. by @join_ef

She joined EF to become a founder.

She ended up changing founders’ trajectories instead.

Maria realized she was more excited by exceptional people and their companies than by building one herself.

And somewhere along the way, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of making it to Silicon Valley, just not how she’d expected.

Building a company is deeply unglamorous.

You’ll hear no a lot, hit setbacks, and things you thought were working can change very quickly.

After working with hundreds of founders at EF, Isabel has seen the same thing again and again: you can’t really know if founder life is for you from the outside.
The best way to find out is to start.

That’s part of what EF gives you: a sandbox to test yourself, try different ideas, work with different people, and see if this is really the path you want to take. by @join_ef

In addition to the funding rounds this summer, we had some exciting news across the portfolio:

 - Wexler joined Legora, bringing its Fact Intelligence technology to a platform serving 1,500 customers and 100,000 users

- ZeroEntropy was acquired by Notion after its models had already been running in production inside Notion AI

- Moongate was acquired by MoonPay, bringing its embedded wallet and onboarding infrastructure into one of the world’s largest crypto payments platforms

- ThinkSono received FDA clearance for its AI ultrasound guidance software for evaluating suspected DVT, following multicenter clinical studies involving 1,691 patients across 24 sites

- Asteroid launched Asteroid Integrate, with hundreds of pre-built healthcare integrations connecting AI agents to EHRs, payer portals and government systems that lack modern APIs

- Familiar, formerly MetaVoice Labs, announced backing from BMW i Ventures as it builds full-duplex speech models for outbound voice agents that can handle interruptions, overlapping speech and conversational cues in real time

We asked some of the best builders interning at big tech in the Bay Area to fire themselves.

The brief: find the dumbest, most repetitive task at your company and build an agent that does the whole job.

In 4 hours, they built:

- an AI project coordinator that runs stand-ups, spots blockers and chases teammates automatically
- an agent that handles employee onboarding and offboarding across a company’s entire software stack
- a voice agent that helps disabled applicants complete SSDI applications end to end

Everything had to run live, on a fresh input chosen by us, one shot, hands off.
Most of them are still interns. We don’t think they will be for long. by @join_ef
