Most people are applying way too late.

Quick LinkedIn job search hack:

Go to LinkedIn Jobs and search for software engineering roles.

Click “all filters” and set the date posted to “past 24 hours.”

Then go up to the URL and look for `86400`.

Delete it and replace it with `3600`.

`86400` is the number of seconds in a day.

`3600` is the number of seconds in an hour.

Now LinkedIn will show you roles posted in the last hour.

This is one of the best ways I’ve found to catch jobs before they get flooded with applicants.

Save this and try it during your next application session.

🏆 We have a winner.

Congrats to Cameron Mudd and Ricky Chen. Their project, LILO Companion, won the first ever LILO Summer Academy Hack-A-Thon.

The theme was Academia vs Industry. The gap between what school teaches and what the job actually asks of you.

Every student has said “I’ll never use this” in a lecture. LILO Companion answers with evidence. Hand it a lecture and it ties the concept to real job postings. On LeetCode it hints without giving away the answer. For interviews it pulls real write-ups, with a citation behind every claim.

It cheers when you get there. It never does the work for you.
