RIP Tio. 💔🥊🇵🇦
Yesterday we lost our uncle. Tio Ismael Laguna “El tigre de Santa Isabel” Our hero. Our Hall of Famer. The legend. Our Panamamanian pride. My brother and I learned so much from him. At times we would stop by and Duran was just there at the house having breakfast. Tio Ismael changed my dad’s life. He became a father to our dad, showing him the ropes, supporting him as a young kid.
Please keep the family in prayer.

LEGACY

Known also as “El Tigre Colonense”, Laguna was the World Lightweight Champion in 1965 and later regained the belt in 1970.

Major world titles:
(2X) WBA lightweight champion (135 lbs)
(2X) WBC lightweight champion (135 lbs)
(2X) Undisputed lightweight champion
