Summer Daze 2019

When I first began this creative journey, I photographed everything. Wherever I went, my camera came too—capturing light at different times throughout the day; environments, objects, people…..

My first trip away with my DSLR was in 2019, to Queensland, visiting family on the Sunshine Coast.

It was here that my daughters, the beach, and the essence of Summer Daze became my focus. This was the first time I truly committed to a full body of work.

Each year we return, and the series continues to grow.

Today, I’m sharing images from that first series in 2019, along with a few from later years. Looking back, I realize this was the moment I fell in love with storytelling—where photography became more than just capturing, but revealing.

I’m completely humbled by the support — to those who pre-ordered (books shipping this week), to those who came to the launch ( so much fun!!) and to everyone who’s messaged me since.

Room Service has quietly found its way into the hands of some wonderful people, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I’ve got a small, precious stack of copies left — 14 to be exact.

The past couple of years got really busy!!

Whilst I haven’t been sharing much here, I’ve been creating behind the scenes, building a small photography business and embracing new creative challenges.

Today I’m sharing a selection of images that I’m repeatedly drawn back to. Images of my husband, two daughters and some bits in between.

Each photograph remains connected to a time, place and memory that I hold onto.

I’m reminded that photographs don’t simply preserve the past; they keep parts of it quietly present.
