What a lovely response to my cover reveal for The Museum of Second Chances! Thank you! Here's the blurb to tell you more... Out 1 July with @amazonpublishing and 💗💗 to @janklownesbituk @agenthayleysteed Every morning, Evelyn Silver walks the shoreline before the rest of Portheast wakes, gathering what the tide leaves behind. Broken cups. Lost trinkets. Objects others have discarded. In her small Museum of Maritime Curiosities, each one earns its place – because to Evelyn, every forgotten thing deserves to have its story told.At the heart of the museum lies her most precious possession: a fragment of Cornish lace, found pinned to her blanket when she was abandoned as a newborn. For over sixty years, she has kept it close, hoping someone might one day recognise it and tell her who she really is.So when the local council threatens to close the museum, Evelyn stands to lose far more than her livelihood. Forced out of her solitude, she rallies the community around the museum's curious collection – and as the objects begin to give up their secrets, lives start to intertwine in ways nobody expected. by @joleevers

So I thought it was time for a little introduction for new followers - and an update for existing ones. I'm Jo and my Instagram feed started off with images of the houses I visited in my job as an interiors writer for magazines like @livingetcofficial @homesandgardensofficial @countrylivinguk @theworldofinteriors and newspaper supplements. I've now branched out - and I have two books coming out in May. First up is my debut novel Tell Me How This Ends. It's a bookclub/contemporary fiction novel about grief, hope and untold stories. It's sad but it's also funny. Head to my new website joleevers.com to learn more – and find out where the idea came from. There’s also a great promo video by @tomwhitsonvideos that captures the 1970s thread that is woven through the book. On 25 May the interiors book Victorian Modern is out. It’s by photographer @rachaelsmithphotographyltd and myself and is all about how to retain the character of your Victorian home but bring each room beautifully up to date for the way we live now. Links in the linktree thing above. I’ll still be doing interiors features – so normal(ish) interiors feed service will be resumed as we ease into summer! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy one or both of my forthcoming books!Portrait of me © Charlotte Gray @charlottegrayphoto by @joleevers

I really appreciate these three independent bookshops that are stocking The Museum of Second Chances. Thank you Heron Books and Lost In The Reads in Bristol and Tea Leaves & Reads near Andover. While many of my sales are digital, I love that readers still buy the paperback and there's nothing better in the book world than a supportive bookseller! by @joleevers

Head to my Substack for reviews of summer books. I've given it the click-baity title Ghosts, Mothers and Lovers. But I think these themes run through them or are hinted at... Oh and a pic of @richsreads and myself in @lostinthereadsbristol because book reviewers and booksellers are the best. Pale pink is definitely a cover theme too! by @joleevers

BOOK REVIEW It Could Have Been Her is the wildest ride – in the best possible sense. I think my two all-time favourite @lisajewelluk books are And Then She Was Gone and The Family Upstairs. The first is about the disturbing disappearance of a teenage girl; the second is about a London house that witnessed unspeakable things but has a magnetic hold on those who escaped it. So, to my delight, It Could Have Been Me brings together two similar themes and weaves them into a truly dark and compelling tale. In the hands of a less compassionate writer, parts of the storyline could be hard to stomach. But what makes Jewell so readable is that she always maintains a sense of humanity. Also, flashes of humour. The novel is mostly set in Hampstead and she makes a passing reference to Snappy Snaps: ‘The one that George Michael drove his car into…’ There’s darkness but, crucially, there’s always also light, whether in the form of the warm relationship the main character, Jane Trevally, has with her stepson Dexter, her thoroughly life-affirming posse of dogs, or the compassion we feel for the walking wounded characters who survive this house. By the end, it’s clear that rookie private investigator Jane Trevally has a promising career ahead of her. Like the very best PIs (Jackson Brodie, I will always love you), she has her own demons that drive her sense of justice and I will wager that we’re going to be seeing a lot more of her and her case load. I’m already anticipating Jane Trevally’s next wild ride.#itcouldhavebeenher #lisajewell by @joleevers

Out today - 1 July!I loved writing this book and I hope readers will enjoy it too. It's the story of Evelyn Silver, who scours the local beach and junk shops for curios to fill her museum. Her job there keeps her anchored in life, but also holds her back. When her museum is threatened with closure, she is forced to take a closer look at the objects she's surrounded herself with. Gradually, those museum pieces begin to reveal unexpected stories about the people around her... and Evelyn herself. There's a Cornish setting and a host of intriguing characters. There are family secrets, an unsolved crime and even a whisper of romance. I hope you enjoy! Huge thanks to @agenthayleysteed and Mina at @janklownesbituk Bekah Pickering at Lake Union @amazonpublishing for bringing this book into the world and @emmarogersbooks for the cover 💙🌊⚓️🌊🐚🐋🧵💌 by @joleevers
