POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday was its own kind of special. I've been dealing with a lot of anxiety as of late. It has been almost crippling. I found myself hiding in my vices and engaging in a vicious cycle that I know doesn't serve me.

However, this week, I took time to reset and recharge. I rested and embraced stillness. Just take a brief break from it all while also doing some reflecting.

When I was finally ready, willing and able to step outside the house this weekend, it wasn't without its struggles. My anxiety stormed the gates of my psyche and I found myself feeling afraid of the world again.

Nonetheless, I gathered the courage to venture out and instead of doing it under any kind of influence, I made sure to do it with a clear mind. One free of influences. Just me, a nice rainy day, my thoughts... and 999 other awesome individuals who were also fortunate enough to be featured in Jackson Lin's latest solo exhibition 1,000 Guest Checks at PRIV.Y Gallery in the Lower East Side.

My portrait being featured was a pleasant surprise. I actually didn't remember that I was included. To be frank and somewhat ironic, life often distracts me from being present. But today I was there, front and center, amongst the many renditions of friends and peers, rejoicing in the nowness of the moment.

This exhibition is nothing short of endearing. Seeing all the familiar faces, it felt like a family reunion.

It was a great weekend. And I've got receipts!

Really, I'm grateful.

So many portraits! Watch me find mine in real time!

LAST DAY TODAY! 46 Hester Street! Drop by!
